Actually, my favorite memory was after i got my 1st Rolex, the GMT C back in 2010, and after some visits to the AD, I made the acquaintance with the white dial Daytona 116520; i put it on for the first time ever... and what a feeling that was! it was something that i never felt with anything before it! like the time when Harry Potter was handed his magic wand for the first time... the wand chose the wizard.
It was like the purest form that a watch can be, the Daytona 520 white; the watch that chose me. And since then, I was waiting for the right time to have it, also given that there were very limited quantities each year. At last, 3 years later, at the Daytona's 50th anniversary, at the right time, I had my white dial Daytona 116520. Still wearing it right now while typing on TRF. |

First one back in 1987 at 21 years old. Early 16613LB. I had started my first business the year before and was working crazy hours. Like 16+ hours a day. Kept putting money in the Rolex fund and saved up to get it. I remember the sense of accomplishment when I put it on for the first time. I have many fond memories of that watch but most are inappropriate for the forum...Single 20 something party animal in the 80's. You get the picture.

Mine is when it arrived from the seller. No one was home for the delivery and when I found out I had to drive like mad to get to the Federal Express office before it closed, but there was no way i was waiting another day. Got there just in time. Opened the box with shaking hands and took pictures of it in my car. The beginning of an ongoing love affair with this 16233 DJ. It came with a black band, and I had to search for an authentic jubilee to match, then a major service, still a key part of my tiny collection still great satisfaction when I look at it on my wrist.

Picked up my first ever NEW Rolex from the dealer and a few days later I flew to Baselworld. One of the best on the spur of the moment decisions Ive made in my life (both buying and travelling)

For me, having had my grail Rolex for only 6 months, it was unboxing and strapping it on for the first time. Now I'm making memories with it.

Can't pin it down to just one, I strapped on my new Submariner on my first day of retirement, wore it for both my daughters weddings as well as my own. Many more to come!

The surprise when my fiancee gave me my datejust for valentines day, to celebrate me getting into the U of M, and the day I got called into my boss, mentor, and incredibly close friend's office and he asked me "do you have good quick hands" to which I replied "uh I think so" at which point he tossed me my gmt and said Merry Christmas, you earned this.
More than anything i feel blessed that I have people in my life that I've built memories and relationships with that would want to invest in me the way they have both personally and financially.
