I wore this today. I think that this is awesome. Between the two I prefer the Lange 1815 but I think the 5146 in white gold can dress up or down depending on strap. I think the Lange is more formal.

Fair enough if you do, but don’t be surprised if you overhear anyone saying you’re a few sandwiches short of a picnic — they’d be correct!

Nobody speaks out that format but that format is used commonly in ‘written’ form. Last time I checked the ALS doesn’t ‘speak’ the date /s, but I would also have preferred a zero instead of a blank to balance out the dial. Yes I know I’m in a minority.

Anyways, I went through the same decision and I chose the 5146G cream dial.

I just don’t like the design of Lange’s AC’s. I do think that the grand Lange 1 is the iconic Lange and the one with the moonphase is very nice. Datograph is just a horological marvel , beautiful movement.

In my WIS path I had 2 Langes : Saxonia Thin 40 mm rose gold and the Timezone in white gold.

That being said , retrospectively I think the only Lange that I like is the Timezone but in platinum.

Cheers

Both nice, but Lange Saxonia Calendar all day long vs the Patek. Especially the WG version. And especially if it is a daily wearer.

1. Better finished movement.
2. More features: Zero reset, micro-rotor , big date.
3. Thinner case
4. Those Blued hands!
5. More legible

The only reason to choose the Patek is if you subjectively like the design better. See them both in the flesh and try them on if you have not...the Saxonia Calendar is a bit of a sleeper until you see it live.

Lots of good input, seems split 50/50. Hate that Lange loses so much value compared to the. Patek. Pre-owned is the way to go imo
