Who has watch insurance less 0.75% of replacement value per year?

Post here. This should help everyone out.

I think I’m at like 1.25% through jewelers mutual. Maybe I should switch.

Who is the underwriter for PURE insurance? Sometimes I wonder if they will pay out if there is a catastrophic loss, such as weather related or fires. Imagine loosing your possessions in a wild fire and finding out that they do not cover or cannot cover for your losses. I notice their website directs people to authorized agents that sell their insurance plans.
How many years have you had their plan and any losses that they compensated for?

close-ish but no. I’m at 0.9% with Cincinnati, which I thought was pretty good.

I’ve had for 3 years , haven’t filed a claim. Went w them bc if their reputation near me of paying out without hassle. Think they are geared to high-worth clients . Have home, auto , umbrella and personal articles bundles w them . I had had State Farm in past and filed a claim and they were a huge pain and took forever

I'm not sure it's possible based on our zip codes, Jin. I found the standalone personal articles insurance from Statefarm to be the cheapest retaining the same coverage that JM offered. I'm at about 1.5%

Imma in a gated community and like 10 CCTVs; security guard and ring - does that help? :D

.74% through American Family. A lot of other things insured with them, that might help.

Yes, under 0.5%. I’m in the UK with combined household policy. Not sure it is easy to compare between countries etc, need to take into account postcodes, safe requirements, alarm, usage etc etc.

Well in Hong Kong they charge 10%. Try that for a change.

Anyone in Hong Kong with a good watch insurance policy? Advice needed as I'm not paying 10% of the watches' value per year. Told them to go kick rocks and mug someone else off.

I am with Amica and pay 88 bps upfront (I get a rebate if the overall pool hasn't paid out a lot in claims, which brought it down to 69 bps for 2018). I may be able to get an even lower jewelry policy premium but Amica has a good reputation for paying claims (94% rating from Consumer Reports and they've been known in other ratings to have a good claims paying track record). On top of that, A.M. Best's insurance rating for Amica is A+ (for those unfamiliar, this is a financial strength rating). I have also heard that USAA is a good insurance company (92% from Consumer Reports and an A++rating from A.M. Best). When I went to get a quote from them, I was better off at Amica, even if my dad had been a higher ranking officer in the Army. Hope this helps!

I am with them to, didn't know they were that good a rate. Is that just for watches or jewellery in general. The good thing I found out about them is that the insure purses as part of the standard homeowneres policy. No need for a special rider!

I'm at about 1.8% for NYC through Chubb. Was told that it costs more because of Manhattan. Are there others here who can confirm?

You guys complaining about <2% are lucky. As our HK buddy mentioned above, here likewise there aren't even any options to insure watches, and in the rare occasion one pops up, they charge >10% per year. It's worse than insuring motorbikes.

I'm paying 4K a year for a car that's worth 150K. Insurance quotes out here is a joke and I still don't understand why.

None of my watches are insured, so if we need to hand it over, it simply won't happen. You're better off paying for a year Krav Maga classes.

I'll still walk with sleeves down in Manhattan. Any gold only comes out in countries where I deem safe.

Cool. Thanks . Forgot to mention I did have a claim on my auto policy (body work plus a few other things after my RR getting hit by a deer) and they were fantastic all around .

I pay the same just outside NYC through Jewelers Mutual. :(

My 5712 is probably underinsured at $70K. If the market continues the way it's going I guess I'll need to update the appraisal soon...but the policy still provides huge peace of mind considering I wear the watch pretty much everywhere.

I just added a watch to my coverage. 77 bps upfront and if the 2018 rebate % is applied I would be at a 59 bps net premium.

I pay about 2% in France, which I consider to be too much.

Not sure how it would help since insurance is written based on geographic area, credit score, claims history . . .

Even if I tell you what I pay what will you do with that info?
