5146 vs Lange saxonia Annual calendar.. Thoughts?
Trying to decide between the Patek 5146 and the Lange Saxonia AC. Both beautiful annual calenders, one with power reserve, the other with grande date, both with moon phase. Love the patek but strong competition from the A Lange... Would love some compelling opinions for my first AC. Thanks.

PP is the king of AC , they invented it. I particularly like the lumen and the power reserve.
My vote is for the 5146 Lange strongest models are Lange 1 and the Datograph Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Agreed both are beautiful, although there is a big price difference between them at retail (Saxonia AC 30% more). Not very sure about used prices.
I like the big date on the Saxonia but the date on the 5146 is very legible also. I have considered both the Saxonia and 1815 AC recently, but decided to go with the 5205 as I prefer the 5205's case profile better with the unique skeleton lugs and slightly concave bezel for a nice shine. No bad choice here really. You will love both. |

agree that PP is the ac brand, but i really dig that saxonia. and actually think the 1815 ac looks even better.

5146 hands down... IMO Lange wins all day long in the chrono category though. Id take a Pt dato vs any Patek Chrono

A vote for the Saxonia here. You can't beat the Lange's dial design and layout, simply exquisite.

Dial aesthetic: Lange 1815 AC > Lange Saxonia AC > PP 5146;
Mechanically: I prefer Lange’s 72 hr PR to Patek’s 46 hr; also prefer Lange’s manual wind. Case: Prefer Lange’s thinner case. YMMV |

I am in your shoe. but look at the Lange, you will see the how beautiful of it., I prefer the 1815 Annual Calendar than the Saxonia because I hate the empty window of date when it from date 1 to 9. I wish The Lange will put number 0 on that empty window.

Tough decision for sure, wondering if they both keep their value equally. Both are beautiful pieces, I love the cream dial of the 5146. For my first AC it's a tough choice. I wanted to be in the 35k range.

Preowned seems like good value relative to other stainless steel sport watches in the current market when you consider the complication, the precious metal case and Lange's finishing. |

Definitely leaning 5146, there seems to be several floating around. Can definitely be a daily wear piece.

Ford invented the motor car, yet people buy Porsches, BMWs, and so forth – why’s that? The Saxonia AC wipes the floor with the any Patek AC due to its better design front and back. You really would need to be sucking on the Patek tit and severely myopic not to notice. If Patek stopped stupidly sticking a 24 hour indication around the moon phase aperture on almost everything else with an AC, they’d have actually had decent looking watches in the form of the 5205 and 5396. |

5146 is a classic PP annual calendar. Will be one that is hard to replicate as the design is timeless and can be used as a daily wear.
