Rolex does not want to compete directly with Apple. Nobody wants to have to compete with Apple. You will lose everytime.

Uh... Samsung hasn't lost.
I like it! If the battery lasted at least a week I would buy one! And Rolls Royce like most other car companies making electric versions of their cars.

I live in the Apple bubble so of course they have!

Rolex will eventually produce one.

They will be in very short supply.

Then the Grey dealers will price them out of the market.

Better get on the list now.

Nah...it would just likely be the end of all “Real” watches!

Thankfully. And rightly so. I'm fed up with all this i-crap.

If the company was to do a smartwatch, then more than likely it would be done under the Tudor brand. They're already set up to attract a younger market, and could do it at an attainable price point. Right now, I don't think a smartwatch (an inherently short term product) doesn't fit with Rolex's image of tradition and longevity

The funny thing is that all Rolex has to do is to limit supply... then everybody will want one!!!
With Wearable technology going though obsolescence at about a two year (if two years) rate, it would take some unbelievable design and planning for Rolex to come up with something that has a longer life that would live up to their multi generational designs of the past. I find it unlikely that it will come to fruition.

That would in my judgement be the end of Rolex as we know it.

It is not like the quartz wristwatch revolution, in which Rolex was initially a big player in research and development.

A smartwatch would be like throwing their hands in the air and surrendering.

There may be plenty of innovations for mechanical and even quartz watches for Rolex to explore, but putting the Rolex name on a "smartwatch" is not one of them

It will never be a traditional ROLEX.

It might start out as a Trial Tudor watch and if sales soared, then Maybe a Rolex sub-brand one year...

Remember Rolex did get Into the Quartz Movement

I just don't like a smart watch. I tried one and hated it, so being a Rolex wouldn't cause me to try one again.
