If rolex made a stainless day-date, would you buy one?

I am a stainless fan. And have always wished Rolex made the Day-Date in stainless. Thoughts?

I would like a version of the day date in ss but I think it would have to be different enough from the pm dd for them to justify doing it. I’d like to see one with an oyster bracelet and sub handset and only available with lume markers.

How come? Because you believe it devalues the brand? I agree with you to a certain degree. But they made a SS sky dweller this year and I don’t think brand prestige has changed much

I think it would be a fantastic idea, and I'd seriously consider buying one. I don't know if Rolex would do it, but then a year ago, no-one thought an SS Sky Dweller could happen. I like the Tudor DD, but the Rolex is the original.

Couldn’t help but think it would cheapen my olive dial. The ss still wouldn’t feel the same on wrist, that’s for sure. Not too against it though. Wonder if day would change 5-15 minutes late still lol

That’s a beauty, and I want one in the worst way!

I suppose in the alternate universe where the Crown busts out with a stainless DD, I’d be interested in such a watch, but I’m not holding my breath for it.

I am sure the guys who don't want to afford a DD in its current configuration are all about a SS DD. I am for sure one of them ;) With 2 kids in college this Fall, a PM DD is just not doable in my future.

For the folks who handed over big money to Rolex for the pleasure of a PM DD, I totally get their argument too. For that kind of money, I would want the club to be pretty selective.

There was a handful of SS prototype DD’s made years ago. They are extremely valuable today. Never say never.

They’d have to place a unique touch on the design in order to differentiate from a PM DD. Such as dial colours specific to the SS vs dial colours specific to PM. So when you look at the wrist you either know it’s white gold or stainless right off the hop
