What is your favorite leather strap brand on a Submariner?
Hello guys!
I just purchased a no-date sub. I am looking to buy a brown leather strap. Let me know which brands you trust more! |

None for me. Can’t wrap my head around a leather strap on a dive watch.

I used to wear this on my Sub all the time. After owning just about every rubber strap on the market, from Everest to RubberB to everything else, I found this Hirsch James to be perfect, because it is leather on the outside with rubber underneath, so, it looks like a normal leather strap from a couple of feet away, but it is fully waterproof and quick drying. I even wear it in the shower.

It is a dive watch, no leather for me. I think it looks terrible to be honest. If I want to wear a strap, I wear a watch that belongs on a strap.

If it must come off the bracelet for a temporary period...only a NATO strap will do for me.
Either nylon or leather.

Rolex Oyster bracelet. It's a watch for divers.

I'm not sure wearing a Sub on leather is any worse than owning a Sub and not taking it diving, so don't listen to these knuckleheads. Wear what you like, but I think the rubber/leather performance strap I mentioned above is the best of both worlds.

I think the brown Everest looks ok, but if it’s a strap rubber the way to go. Everest or Rubber B are good choices, but if you can find one get an Oysterflex. They are really comfortable!!!

I think the leather looks best on the vintage.

Bulang and Sons are great on vintage. Worn lots of straps on vintage models, but prefer bracelets on the modern. Everest rubber is nice on modern as well. Here are a couple pics

I always felt that my 16610 had very thin lugs for a sports watch, datejust inheritance. I think the Super Case is the best Sub to date and looks fabulous in leather. IMHO. Here my 16610 and 116610 with the same leather strap from Moretti.

I'd never put a leather strap on my Sub, but I'm all ears when it comes to leather straps in general.

You can get a geniune rolex crocodile one from rsc for $360, a seller on the fourms sells a geniune rolex lizard strap for $145 - https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=558360 . I would go with theses when leather strap prices like everest are ~225. That’s what I did.

Stainless steel is the best way to wear an SS Sub.

Rover Haven shell cordovan nato straps are beautiful, and can be made in many colors.

Love the Sub on the leather! If you’re going to dive you can always throw it on a nato or back on the bracelet...as if any more than 1% of Sub owners ever dive, haha.
Some great looking leather clad subs shown in this thread! |

Get what u like. Martu is excellent value and variety. Be aware it will get scuffed on the case, this is where the curved Everest shines. |

The big thing about the Everest leather strap--some models anyway--is curved ends that fit Rolex sport watches perfectly. I use one occasionally on a Yachtmaster. I could see it working aesthetically on a Sub.
