5524g... Love Pilot's. Love input

I've been contemplating pulling the plug on a 5524 in white gold. I love Pilot's, love patek, so it seems like a no brainer. My wrist is 6.75 in so 42 mm is my max. I already have a 5167r and an AC. I see that that the price in the Grey's are 10k less than new, is it worth it to buy new? . I feel this watch has lots of room to grow and could be agood investment piece in addition to fulfilling my Pilot's watch love. Would love some opinions.

I love mine. This is my first Patek Pilot. I had put my name at Tiffany's years ago for the stainless steel version. Useless. I love pilot watches. I have had at least 4 IWC big pilots and one small (platinum, blue dial) IWC. Loved them all and each time i got rid of one I regretted.

Now I'm left with 5524G and IWC big pilot. I am only wondering if i should trade the IWC and buy another 5524!!! this time R.

I always recommend buying new.

Country Boy, why would you recommend buying new. You can easily save 20% on this watch used from trusted seller. Are there pitfalls to buying this watch used from a dealer?

These pix look great. Classic pilot, very useful travel time and date. I think I'm sold on it!

Buy new from AD.
Build your history with AD in order to land more attractive pieces in future.
Your name on the watch paper.
Might able to have discount of 3-10% from AD.
Peace of mind.

I was in similiar situation and I went with my AD. Its worth it in building long term relationship and landing on hard to get pieces in future. Remember Patek ADs do have other brands as well (Rolex, Tudor, Breitling, Cartier, JLC, IWC, list goes on). So you are basically building a relationship with all the brands they offer.

Simply, whoever buying just one piece, not planning of acquriing watches in future and do not need a strong relationship with AD then grey market is the only answer. But I will still not buy grey, pre-owned, etc. Everyone is different.

I have a 6.5 inch wrist and yep, my 5524g and 5522a wear big. That said, Pilot’s watches were designed to be worn big and it doesn’t bother me.

I love the 5320g and it's cream dial... I certainly agree with the pilot appearance.

I really like it as well. Never liked the original strap and it is so much better with the variations seen by members here. I have re-thought adding one to my collection as a result.

Don’t buy it as an investment, buy it if you love it. I’ve owned it, and it’s a very nice piece and would recommend.

The pictures are wonderful. Great daily wearer. I've tried it on and it feels well balanced and not heavy, would that be accurate? Closer to picking one up.)

Yes, I find it not heavy and pretty comfortable. It’s also very versatile. Go for it, you will enjoy it.

Contemplate no more, says another satisfied owner here who also bought it new from an AD. One of the most underrated references from PP IMHO, especially when paired with the right strap.
