Incoming 15500st!

My first AP from an AP boutique. Waited around 6 months. Honestly surprised, but looks like it’s possible with a little bit of patience

I love it. My wrist is about 7in and I think it fits and looks great. I used to have a 4100st but I eventually felt it was too small at 35mm. (See pic)

It’s going to be a long honeymoon with the 15500st until I get my hands on an ROC

Wrist shots can be deceiving, but I prefer the 4100 on you. That one looks refined and elegant. The silver 15500 looks large, empty, and not as attractive on your wrist IMO.

Of course, all that matters is that you got what you like. Congrats on the speedy acquisition!

Congrats - looks great and very jealous! Still waiting for mine from the same boutique for about 10months now... If you don't mind me asking, did you have prior history with them?

Congrats on your latest pick up. I also live in NYC. How did you manage to get it in only 6 months at retail? I'm in talks with local dealers in Manhasset-ANY TIPS?

I will greatly appreciate it.

Congratulations on an awesome new piece, especially on such a quick timeframe! You didn't have any purchase history with them?

I have the same question as edisonstar23: how did you manage to get it so quickly (or at all)? I stopped in to the NYC boutique back in 2019 to ask about a 15500ST (told them I was open to any color dial, with blue as top choice) and was basically told to get lost. At that time the non-blue dials were trading barely above MSRP (actually a bit less if you could avoid tax) so I ended up buying from a trusted seller instead. And of course it's a much tougher environment now. I know certainly today I would come across as a flipper asking for those models, but I figured that at the time, since there was barely any grey premium, it wouldn't be so bad. I'm not sure whether this helped or hurt, but I also intentionally wore my decently well-worn white dial 116500LN as a way of saying "look, I want to actually wear these, not put them in a safe or flip them".

Thanks guys. It was more like 7 months actually. No tips to give because I didn’t really do much but wait. But i did get my SA’s contact info so I texted them here and there following up on my interest. So if you don’t have their number I would try to get it so you can gently remind them every so often about your interest. But also i am not sure if they can do so much anyway because I think all interests are in the system and AP corporate decides who gets what. I was thinking maybe they advocated for me to AP corporate? No idea but i’m just glad I was able to get the call eventually. Btw I also wore my 116500 when I visited to register my interest! Good luck.

Saying that you are open to any colour is practically saying doesn't matter what they will give you, you buy it likely for profit...
You have to pick one model you are waiting for and stick to that.
I wanted a 15500 blue, no history with the store, went in, they said no chance to get it as first watch but lets start with a ROC instead. Got it in 2-3 months, then I was able to ask for a 15500. As got a blue ROC, didn't get a chance to get a 15500 blue but got a grey one about 6 months later. Did not regret.
Also was offered a white one during the 6 months, could have get that 2 months earlier.

Thanks, this is a good way of thinking about it and I'll keep that in mind next time I go in there, having one or two specific models in mind. I really like all the dial colors of the 15500ST so I was genuinely interested in any of them to wear, and while the blue is definitely my favorite I knew it was a long shot, so I figured I'd take whatever I could get. But I can definitely see how that would come across as sounding exactly like a flipper. Congrats on the blue ROC and grey 15500-- both excellent pieces!
