In the, what could go wrong department...

Like social media, talking appliances, and celebrities running for office, now we get the Jetsons.....

Gotta admit, it's pretty, and could be in a Bond movie, but who on earth could think this is a good idea. Have they never driven on a freeway, mall parking lot or street before????

Oh man. I don’t know why but my head goes to what a bummer failure of that vehicle would be like over a crowded neighborhood. I guess that’s where we are headed. George and Jane Jetson always seemed fine in theirs.

Another 20-30 years. I’m 50, should be able to see this materialize in my lifetime. People on horses wondered how the hell we’d make cars work…..

Good idea after they bury all the overhead electrical wires. Look around.

Yep!

....and there'll be a lot more, when we're using rechargeable 'cars'.

I don't think we'll ever have the infrastructure to support the EVs. IMO just a ploy to make money off of the wealthy luxury buyer spectrum of the market until something like Hydrogen fuel cells or similar alternative is widespread. If that's not the case, it is a very poorly designed transition to EV (both upstream and downstream).

You can tell when they're fully charged because the wool will be sticking straight out.

To be fair, the Jetson's vehicle wasn't powered by two high speed decapitation devices.

No way. My 13 year old said someone was working on developing a hover car soon and I thought he was just joking. Turns out he wasn't. LOL

I think that's iphones/Tim Cook. Not sure though. They do keep pumping out the models to someone....

And this is why this won’t happen. At least not in cities it won’t. It’s too bad because those of us who were younger in the 80s always thought this is where we were going.

I like to think that, if we were born, we were all younger in the 80's.

They're 3 years away from release and all they have is computer generated images?

Musk 2.0? Big promises, zero delivery.

I would probably get his and hers Jestsons if the flight time was about an hour instead of 20 mins. Super cool imo. Wifey loves the idea too.

My thoughts exactly.

BTW, love your avatar!

The physics behind a battery powered car/helicopter are insurmountable with today's technology. The crash-prone Osprey uses aviation fuel, which is a different animal than lithium batteries.

And James Bond has already done it anyway, with the "Man with a Golden Gun" American Motors Javelin, I believe.

Maybe all those unsatisfied people who invested/pre-ordered Elio Motors (remember them?) can switch over to this pipe dream instead.
