Funny wife story

So I recently sold a 114270. It was probably a mistake but that’s another story. Anyway I mentioned to her tonight that I missed it:

- I miss my Explorer.

- Yesterday you said you were fine with it.

- Yeah but the Explorer is a great watch. Should of just held it.

- To be honest hon. I have no idea which watch was the Explorer.

- You know, the Explorer.

- I don’t know which one was the Explorer. I don’t know the names of your watches.

- The Explorer!!!

- You mean the little baby one?

Long stare from me.

I’m surprised she didn’t say what my wife always says “I don’t know which one is the Explorer, all your watches look the same to me”

Well, my wife can't be bothered with me asking which watch to choose to wear on a vacation when I showed her the BLNR and the BB GMT. She always says " I don't care and they all look the same"

OK - now you must turn-in your TRF membership card for failure to properly train your spouse on Rolex watches.

Try not to tell your wife what watches you sell. If she asks, What watch is that?" SS... Always say my Sub. Gold say, "my gold one." When you buy a new one... it's the same one, "It's the same Sub/Gold one you like."

My wife knows the watches I currently have very well
She was with me when we mutually decided to purchase the last 3 of them and made compelling arguments as to why they ought to be added to the collection

You are lucky, me, not so much. My wife knows many watches/designs and not so long ago she asked “Did you get another watch?” So to prevent that, I am buying now his and hers...

I have some black faced watches, and some white faced watches, that's as far as it goes with my wife. She prefers the white faced.

The baby one? Eeesh, tough crowd....time for a DSSD.

Although, she'll prob say something like, "you mean that ridiculously huge one?" Like my wife does...

Our conversations typically go like thi:

Me: Thinking about getting this one, what do you think?
Her: That's nice.
Me: Yes, can't justify the price though.
Her: ...
Me: I'll probably sell something to make room for it.
Her: So you'll sell an expensive one to get it?
Me: Oh, no, I'll probably sell the cheap one. I mean I literally need to make room for it.
Her: <eye roll, walk away>

2 weeks later...

Her: I just got a bank alert for a large wire transfer?
Me: Yes honey that's the watch
Her: Oh so you sold the other one?
Me: Well...........................................

In fact, she is correct. Pretty much all Rolex watches look alike, unless you are concerned with slight dial and bezel changes.

So funny. I’ve heard “Which one is the Explorer?” many times as well.

must be some sort of female wiring thing. black dial, white dial, tropical dial, blue dial, colored bezel doesn't matter. they all look the same to her.
