Newbie here thinking about my first (and probably only) Rolex purchase. Looking at a pre-owned 2003 Sub w/date. It’s for sale at a local, well know jewelry store but they’re not an AD. They do have a nice variety of pre-owned Rolex.

They acquired the watch from the original owner. It comes with box and papers but no service history. They will warrant the watch for one year. It’s priced at $9,850. This seems a little high (relatively speaking). Especially if there’s no evidence of service. Any advice on the price?

In the event I do purchase the watch, I assume I’ll need to take it to the local AD for a full service. What will that run?

I know this is a somewhat loaded question but anything else to be on the lookout for (as I’m sure there’s a lot to be on the lookout for!)?

Most people on here will say to buy the seller. You don’t need to go through a AD for service just call up RSC Dallas and request a box to send in your watch for service. You are looking at anywhere between $1000-1500. I’d look at buying a new one, it’s cheaper and you will know the history. Good luck

If you end up purchasing the pre owned sub date & plan to have it serviced send it over to Phillip Ridley.
