Don’t go check the new sub with an SD43 on your wrist.

Went to check the new 41mm sub armada with my SD43 on my wrist. Huge mistake.
The SD43 made those beautifully proportioned subs look like dwarfs. :-)
I’m considering getting one for my wife though as she’s so in love with mine but “fortunately” is too big for her wrist :-)
I think the new sub will make her wrist a perfect match to mine, hers may be the LN unless she decides to go color with the Kermit or the bluesy which by the way is STUNNING.
Wouldn’t be cool to have both a diver, both LN but different models?!
Anyone here on the forum share that duo “him-SeaDweller / her-sub?

I agree with you, it takes a while to get used to the feeling of my Sub ater wearing the SD43 for a couple of days.
I love the comfort and heft of the watch on my wrist.

I would say its the other way around:) i have both. Unless you are a pro diver or 250+lbs with '8+wrists, the sub is all you need.

I had them both at the same time for a short spell, till I decided that the SD43 just wasn’t a good fit for me.

I think they are different enough and can coexist in a collection for sure. I’d go Submariner (no date) in its purest form to add a bit of variety

My wife wears a 16613LB and the five digit works well. Slightly large but that is the style she likes.

Tend to agree. The SD43 sort of ruins the 40mm sport models for me these days. But these things can be cyclical and just like clothes, cars, etc. and it will cycle back to smaller models for a while and then back to larger again. I plan on sticking with the 43 however.

The SD43 feels substantially more watch than the sub, at least to my eyes and my 7.5” wrist.
I was hoping the 41mm to convince me but it does not. Too bad because the bluesy is a beauty.
I’ll be enjoy seeing one on my wife’s wrist not on mine.

Agree. Maybe if I give it some time on my wrist the 41mm will become acceptable to my eyes. But why bother, the SD43 got everything I need from that diving activity Rolex makes.

I have to say the Subs are small for a dive watch in todays market. Most divers
from other brands are around the 42-45 mm size.I have owned many Subs
and Dwellers, and i think they just look to small on a big persons wrist today.
The 43 mm Dweller is perfect in my opinion.

Absolutely. The SD does it so well I haven't even thought about picking up a Sub or GMT. This hobby tends to make us all want to newest thing but so far I haven't found any reason to move on to another diver with how well rolex nailed the case proportions and bracelet on the SD43. For those with smaller wrists I get it, but for me it's close to perfect.

I have my SD43 on a rubberB and the new LV sub. They make a great pair of divers with some contrast.

The sub is a great daily, but when it's bath time for the baby I always choose the SD43. A real working tool watch!

The Sub is too big for my wife, but if I had a large wristed wife, I'd like the idea of SD43/Sub his and hers.

Ditto

Haven’t had real desire for any of the new Rolex models since 2017. Hahaha

I suppose that’s lucky for me since Rolex market is so whacked atm.

These two keep me happy

Funny, the first time I saw the SD43 (at an AD no less!) I thought the thing was too big and the bracelet was too wide. I absolutely hated it and passed.

The new Sub, while the case proportions are now perfect, now has a wider bracelet that I do not love. I have yet to see/try one, but curious if I would want one.

My wife has a new Omega 300 that she loves. I asked her which Rolex she would want and she narrowed it down to the RG YM Chocolate and the new Sub. She also says she likes to feel the watch on her wrist while wearing it.

I split time between the SD43 and the JC. They both just feel great on my 7" wrist.

if that is a Daytona on your wrist (ur avatar) I can see why sd43 would be too big for u. Even that Daytona looks too big for u

I have a medium size wrist and the SD reminds me of a Invicta watch. Sub is iconic for a reason.

Part of the reason I sold the SD43 was the wider bracelet.

20mm is just the magic width for bracelets.

Tried on the TT version thinking I wouldn’t like it. Was an awesome piece.
