DD40 comes in many variants, all beautiful.

YG - Black sticks or White/Silver romans
WG - Blue or green romans
RG - green romans

These would be my picks.

Picked this up Tuesday and still can’t take my eyes off it. The Roman numerals shimmer and dance as you move the watch. I simply love them.

I would say this. The White gold blue dial is beautiful in person but basically a DJ41 when viewed from 6 ft away.

I have a DD40 in Everose with Chocolate Baguette dial.

I love the baguettes and it makes the watch a little bit classier.

My next DD40 will be the Platinum with Sky Blue and Baguette dial.

Has anyone owned the Roman numerals dd and found it hard to read? The indexes make it like a date just to me but I like the look and luminous appearance (non diamond).

Has anyone owned both types pieces .. my fav thus far is a rose gold sunburst dial with no numerals. I do welcome feedback, please from day date 40 owners and I thank everyone in advance for feedback.

I also love the olive dual rose gold but it’s only available with Roman numerals.

My fav just being honest is the meteorite dial but that’s expensive and white gold. I think I prefer rose gold overall or yellow gold. Knowing myself, I’d likely hide the yellow gold in public. Unsure...
I didn't think the Day Date came in steel. I think colours really depend on your skin tone. I'm very pale and 18k or higher karat yellow gold really stands out. I prefer white gold for that reason.

Is this difficult to read thus far... it’s an amazing piece.

Not at all...actually, the 3D way the roman numerals work, just moving a touch changes the look...but easy to read. The 10 (X) is a good example

Congrats on the achievement and piece. This piece is one of maturity and taste. No one will know what it is in public. It doesn’t call out attention.

I never bought any dd .. I have narrow down my choices to these two pieces. I really welcome thoughts. The meteorite dial looks better from far away, but the blue dial looks better close-up. The blue dial was also extremely hard to read without the proper lighting.. my wife much prefers the meteorite.

The meteorite dial is less bling to me. This shocks me.another thing that bothers me is you can get the same blue dial in a date just. With a fluted bezel no less.

Yellow gold is great but pretty attention grabbing - particularly with the white dial. I went (a bit) more low key with rose gold and sundust dial.

meteorite is a lot more special and would be my pick. the blue dial is a config you can get on a datejust so personally if i'm going for a day date i would go with something that would make it a bit more unique to the reference

I’m like you. I think the index dials look sportier. I usually wear denim, polos, and sneakers.
Right now I’m deciding between yellow gold silver motif and yellow gold black baguette.
The olive/rose gold 228235 is also beautiful but I already have another green dial watch.

I’ve found in darker places it can be a challenge to read. Definitely a looker in the light though.

Can’t go wrong with either man. I got the chocolate with baguettes for a lot cheaper than the olive dial so it only made sense.

I'm also on the waiting list for a YG Black Baguette and a RG Chocolate Romans DD40s, it's too hard to choose!

An ok. It looks olive to me. Tells what I know.. there’s an idea... olive without Roman numerals. I’m betting Rolex discontinues the olive green dial one day soon.
