Ever since I got my DD WG Olive Dial with Romans I wear none of the rest of my collection. This watch is awesome! If the watch is really for you and you don't care what others think then don't worry about the white gold being like steel cause it is not. First you will notice the significant weight difference between the two. Then the Pres bracelet is nothing short of the most comfortable Rolex makes if you get it sized correctly. This watch is just IT, without having to be super super hyped on social media.

Only issue you will have is putting your steel watches back on after wearing it for a while

I love the Romans but my concern is that they tend to date themselves. Unlike a stick dial. The stick dials are more boring but timeless.

That's funny, Roman numerals are prone to being dated.

They have only been around for a couple thousand years and are used practically everywhere. Either are timeless, sticks or roman.

Having seen a Blue dial DD40 YG Blue dial with Roman numerals in person several times, I can easily say that Roman numeral actually did that great watch a justice, and it complements it perfectly.
In as much as you can say that it is not easy to read, and it clustered the dial, I don't think it could have come in a better combo.

Quick update. I’ve worn the meteorite dial DD quite a few times and it’s been recognized a lot, but oddly as a “vintage” 36mm piece. And that’s fine. I never correct anyone. I’ve had 3 people (for me, that’s a lot) ask about it and they’ve thought it was “Pre 1990s...white dial...” so much for “bling and 40 mm,right.

I’ve had a link removed because it was a bit loose in wear but in usa warmer weather now makes this piece wear tightly. I miss the Ez link on the other pieces but have found I can wear this watch anywhere without attracting much attention at all. I pump gas with it (my own car), go to dinner, walk trails, attend events, and just in general found this to be an extremely versatile watch. If it were in yellow or rose gold, I think I’d be weary of the attention. It’s only recognized by people that like watches.. typically in coffee houses, and once at a service station when getting a vehicle back after oil change. It continues to amaze me how this piece is so “hidden” in its value. Diamonds, white gold, and no one typically cares or notices.

Was lucky enough to pick up my second DD yesterday. With my YG Sub I now have three of the four PM’s covered

My main question is about indices... I don’t particularly care for Roman numerals. It seems this greatly limits my options.

Has anyone owned the Roman numerals dd and found it hard to read? The indexes make it like a date just to me but I like the look and luminous appearance (non diamond).

Has anyone owned both types pieces .. my fav thus far is a rose gold sunburst dial with no numerals. I do welcome feedback, please from day date 40 owners and I thank everyone in advance for feedback.

I also love the olive dual rose gold but it’s only available with Roman numerals.

My fav just being honest is the meteorite dial but that’s expensive and white gold. I think I prefer rose gold overall or yellow gold. Knowing myself, I’d likely hide the yellow gold in public. Unsure...
Roman numerals are great. I would much prefer them on my OP 41 but not available.
Can't understand why anyone would pay $36k for white gold that is identical to a SS! Might as well buy a SS DJ and save almost 30k.
Real Gold=Yellow Gold

Some people simply don't like to wear YG. I'm one of those people. I have 2 PMs and they're both WG and I love them both!

Might as well by a 3 series instead of a 7 series since they both have the BMW emblem. As with the watches, they're worlds apart.

No, still available. Just difficult to get from an AD for a good majority of the world.

Looks stunning! I know you’ve been waiting on this one for awhile. Glad to see your patience paid off! Your acquisition deserves its own thread. Enjoy it!

Just an update… the dd 40 white gold meteorite is my daily wearer…I’ve found it to be a very casual watch and it’s extremely subdued. Love this piece.

How is a stick easier to read than a Roman numeral? A stick can’t even be read because it’s not a symbol or a number or a letter; it’s a stick.
