I'm not shocked at all. That color is HOT and all it takes is two people who want it right then who are both loaded to an extent where an extra 5 or 10 or 15 grand is lunch money. If the buyer is paying auction fees, they might be paying a good bit more than 20 as well.

To the average person this is mind numbing....to some people it’s the price of a bottle of wine.

It’s all relative.

Buy what you want and can afford, spending keeps the economy going.

Was going to pick one up for my niece but at that price I’d rather just give her the money

Bosch88, OK, so he has some nice Pateks, APs, Rolexes, etc., and still likes his OP. But don’t you think that he’s connected enough not to need an open auction to get one? So generic billionaires/people with over 100M argument doesn’t seem adequate IMO. Is that dial colour really that hard to get? I guess at 36mm if one is a Tiffany collector, why not?

Mark Wahlberg who is almost a millionaire, some days rocks the op 41 turquoise, and on others he wears the new 5711 green dial with diamonds

And you're a multi millionaire so there you go! It's good enough for billionaires and multi millionaires with many desirable PM watches!!

Very nice on your wrist, btw. Love that piece!

What’s an entry level Rolex ?
They are all finished the same and use the same movements.

It’s not like Patek where the cheaper models i.e. Aquanaut are finished to a lesser degree.

Well today Rolex are little more than £££$$€€€ objects, and many today must be sixpence short of a shilling, to pay crazy money for any mass produced Rolex watch.

its very interesting. It used to be that a sub was hard to get, and daytonas were impossible. Now OPs and skydwellers are nearly impossible to find.

Nicer colors. If they had 2 tone DJ in these OP colors I would have bought 2 different ones in a heartbeat. Red and pink (really bubblegum)

It's a smooth bezel time only watch without any history and with colors that aren't for everyone in each situation. At MSRP definitely a good buy but 3 times that? At market prices there are other better buys for a smooth bezel...MG, DJ, Exp1. An AD couldn't give OPs away a couple years back.
