Congrats and best wishes to you.
Your subject line of “any questions” reminds me of Tom Hanks’ David Pumpkins sketch on SNL.

Congratulations! Never seen one in real life but in pics they look beautiful. I’d pay a premium for that piece.

My only suggestion would be that you don’t need a backup. Put that money toward a different model or your dd.

Enjoy your life. The watch is just a timepiece unless it brings you joy. Sorry to read such a gloomy pessimistic note. Just met with the folks today at springers in Portsmouth New Hampshire and it would have been worth calling them to see how hard it is to get the exact model you were looking for. But heck , you already bought it so enjoy your purchase and hope it brings a smile to your face every time you look at it

Congratulations on your new beautiful timepiece!

Miracle do happen, price doesn't matter as long as you're happy to have it.

Because I LOVE a red watch. Wonder why they don't make more of them. Looking at the obscene prices this one is going for I am not alone. If there is new datejust in red available somewhere let me know and I will save this one for the spare. I was told they are NOT being made-a 2 tone would have been my preference for sure. Although I find to my surprise I enjoy the oyster more than the jubilee.

Why do you even need to justify having overpaid for your watch to a bunch of strangers is beyond me. Your financial circumstances as you vividly describe them, practically, render the price paid a non issue. But you've still overpaid and that's a fact.
It's your life, your money and your decisions. People may disagree but no one can judge you. Wishing you all the best and may you enjoy your new watch to the fullest
PS: Pls DO get that Day Date

That is true for all of us.
Where I think you are wrong is saying I "overpaid". I actually I did a TON of research and this was the cheapest I could find that was unworn and from a thoroughly reliable seller.
Buy Thursday afternoon get the watch cross country before 1030 AM Friday?
That's pretty damn reliable to me.

Going through my AD can take a year or more to get the piece you want....
That's what I'm saying. I'm not into buying unneeded watches to sell at a loss, unneeded jewelry, gift cards, wine bottles, candy, thank you notes, birthday cards, wedding invitations, etc., etc, etc.
Just tell me the price and give me the ******* watch.

People are going to think you are joking but the the Governor just announced they are indeed reopening. Spent a lot of time in those places over the decades. And on outcalls. Flying has gotten rough because of my size. Haven't flown in 6 years. But I am thinking of taking a train with sleeper to SF and Reno. I did this to Florida in 2009 on the Silver Meteor down, Silver Star back up. Or maybe just driving with a cousin all the way out I-80. Just 6 or 8 hours a day is about all we can handle at our ages.
There was a time, seems like yesterday we drove back and forth to DC in one day just out of college. you go from kindergarten to 60 and it feels like an afternoon nap.

If anybody knows- is the DD readily available at MSRP or is it the same bullcrap trying to get one?
There's always the Greys
I have bought exactly one watch in my life. My datejust 2 tone almost 20 years ago. Before that I used a very nice and still working Timex Automatic my parents bought me in high school.
I call it my Times datejust!
Will post a pic tomorrow if anyone is interested.
Well come to think of it I will post it whether any of you are interested or not.
