Yup. A Coral Red OP 41 with a list price of $5900.
Ordered it from a "trusted seller". Now I see why he is trusted. I paid by wire noon yesterday and got a Fedex shipping code within an hour. Priority Next Day. I had the watch in hand this morning at 1040. 1500 miles away.
I love it! So much so I am seriously considering buying the one they have up now for $14,575 as a spare. That is NOT a joke.Circumstances-I have no immediate family save a near nursing home ready father in his 90's and a few similar aged aunts and uncles.
A bunch of cousins. Some of whom I am reasonably close to, most of whom I could give a **** about.
I am not rich by a long shot. But I have more than enough to get by on the rest of my life. Car is paid for. House is reverse mortgaged so I can stay there
rent free for life and have sucked 300 grand out of the equity. I am done traveling both for health and non-desirability at this point. I have traveled plenty including 4 trips to Europe. My pensions (plural), SS and investments turn out more than I spend by quite a bit.
I am old, fat and dying. Earlier this month I was given 3-5 years to live. 6 on the outside. Sad part is I feel great. I could buy this watch 50 times over and still live very comfortably, though it would extinguish my savings. Won't do that of course but maybe 1 more...and maybe a brand new Day-Date yellow gold. Undecided on the dial. I am assuming I can buy one at MSRP from an AD without playing and of these "games". If not-it is onto the Grays.
The watch by the way is beautiful. The Datejust 36 I have been wearing for 20 years now seems cramped. Will try to post a pic tomorrow but that is not my strong suit. When they say never worn I believe it. Warranty is good till
March 2026. With a little luck I may outlive it.

EDIT: I actually read the thread and you're much less of a troll than I thought. You do you, no sense taking that money in the casket with ya, I'd do the same. Shoot I went to look at a Yukon for my wife the other day, called and made sure it was there first, and in the hour it took me to get over there 2 other people showed up, a bidding war ensued, and someone paid 12k over list for a bottom end GMC Yukon, so this isn't the craziest thing I've heard this week.

Another question I asked on this thread but didn't get an answer is are Day Date's readily available at MSRP or do they pull the same bullcrap of waitlist, buy jewelry, gift cards, boxes of chocolate, wine, thank you notes, birthday cards, etc.
Would RATHER go to local AD-half a mile from house. But not going for any games-if they won't take the pay go grey!
I think researching this over the last 2 weeks I am already convinced that the main players and profiteers in this game are the AD's.
They ARE the grey's.
Bob - I was at my friendly local jeweler who also sells a few used Rolexes. He knows I like Rolexes. As soon as I walked in he says "I just got something I have to show you"...wouldn't you know it. He had a YG DD. It was a 1991 ref 18238. Beautiful watch. First time I ever got to try one on. Holy moly. The heft (weighed at least twice as much as my Submariner) and the luster on all the 18KT gold...Solidified my earlier call to go for the YG DD. Absolutely spectacular watch. Called my wife and asked if she minded if I drop $18K on a watch, joker that she is, she says "no, but your daughter will kill you if you spend her college tuition on that watch"...game, set, match. Another 10 years and I'll get one...

Totally agree. I don’t see where the watch comes in.

Like the OP said “I’m a sucker who paid $14,375 for a $5,900 MSRP OP.” I guess the saying is true. There’s one born everyday.

Congrats and enjoy the new watch (es).

Whether this story is true or not. Enjoy physical possessions while you can but don't make that your life. A better investment might be in charities or people. Leave a lasting impact that goes far beyond watches and remember your soul is more important than any rolex or material things. Trust in God and you will be taken care of. Enjoy life!

You could likely make just about all of it back when college time came-don't know if that's 1 year or 17 though!
Otherwise hopefully you stay in good health for 10 years.
The yellow gold is certainly the way to go though the rose colored is very tempting!
White gold? Why bother!
I really love the gold dial they insist on calling champagne but the GOLD on GOLD on GOLD dial might be monotonous. Leaning toward white dial. Tough choice. I see a tourquise dial available out there for over $50,000 that takes your breath away.

This is my first watch.
Goes for $150 on Ebay but never to be sold.
Works fine. Manual wind.
Other then a couple of long discarded junk quartz digitals that completes the watches of my life...until my TT sky dweller comes in.

It’s like he’s got a fisheye lens or something and he doesn’t realize it or doesn’t care. Either way, I hope you’ve still got lots of days to figure it out OP!!

Uhm yeah…. Well, I read the first two or three pages of posts. As someone said, strange thread. But, if Bob is being truthful, then I congratulate you sir. I wish you the best and that you live another 100 years. The only point I would want to make is you do not have to justify any purchase to us or anyone else for that matter. You, your family, that’s the only thing that really matters, and if you wanted that watch, it doesn’t matter if you paid 10X MSRP, you wanted it, bought it and now enjoy it, that’s the important part and if someone feels differently they have no right to interject their scruples on your life!
