Ad Lost Rolex

My AD, whom I have bought multiple Rolex watches from since 2000 and who has been promising me my name is on an incoming 116508 YG green dial Daytona for two years, is no longer a Rolex AD. A month ago, they let me know I wasn’t buying enough jewelry all the while they knew they lost the franchise. So tried to sell me jewelry before I found out I would never get another Rolex from them or so it appears. Nice, right??

Nice way to keep a customer for the future. That really stinks.

That must feel terrible.

Thanks for the life lesson to the members. No matter how much you think you know your AD or length of time knowing them, at the end of the day the raison detre in sales is to take the customers money.

Lame. But also wholly expected when the 'prisoner's dilemma' for cooperation ends from an infinite game to a finite game.

Whoever told you that at the AD showed their true colors. It’s a shame they behaved that way. Sadly, the world is full of such people (and businesses).

Personally and professionally that is not tolerated in my world. Could be the behavior you described contributed to the loss of AD. Certainly, it’s not helping their business, in general.

Id like to think I have the cojones to call them out on the spot if i were in your shoes. Likely I'd miss the moment.

Sounds pretty ham-fisted and sh*tty dealer behavior to me.

Your AD lost your YG green dial Daytona, therefore they are no longer an AD?

Said it many times all this so called AD relationship stuff only exists in internet land, and not in the real world.

Wow, that is below the belt behaviour. Trying to shift jewellery knowing full well you won’t be getting any more watches.

I bet they were selling them out the back door which denied genuine customers the in demand watches

Really feel for you. This happened to me. Most of my watches came from 1 AD up till 2015. They then shut down, family business, sons didn’t want to continue.

I swapped ADs and wasted 2 years trying to get something going, only to switch again and have now found the best one yet.

I would make sure whoever you go with you feel a genuine connection to all of them, not just 1 staff member.

I’d be gutted because it’s a very hard time to get into the game. Maybe a positive that you could relax and enjoy your current collection? I know I’d probably do that if my AD went. Get off the treadmill of new watches. Would be hard to start a new relationship.

Pretty low from the AD. Good that Rolex withdrew their dealership.
Making money this way would not sit with me nicely.
Some people are willing to give up any morals they have or probably never had in the first place.

Than again seeing so many members kissing up their AD’s makes me wonder about that as well. How far some would go to buy just another watch ... no shame. It could have been funny if it wasn’t so sad.

Hope you find your Daytona elsewhere. It is a beauty

I totally agree and I’m thankful for the watches I’ve collected so far plus one grey experience which was great and at roughly retail. The treadmill is way less attractive at this point!! Thank you my friend!

I’d never had spoken again to any turd who would tell me such a thing.

I get that and I’m satisfied with every watch I have if I never get another and don’t have to talk to the ADs anymore. To think, when I got interested in watches in the 70s, I went into stores just to gawk at inventory. That’s gone too in 2021...

Again, apologies for the title, should have said AD lost Rolex franchise!!

Unfortunately the ‘relationship’ also exists in some of the muppets minds who buy overpriced jewellery and hard to shift watches

I see it more as a working relationship with a specific SA or manager than one with the “establishment” which is why I keep buying from the same person as they move from place to place and try to refer people to them - I am not a big spender but they seem honest and got me a BLRO when they said they would and they have always been straight up with info - now that they are no longer with the place I used to buy from I know where I stand with them compared to other big spending customers

Owning a Rolex Ad is like being a street hustler in New York, Miami, Vegas or La .... when somebody says “ trust me, I’ll take care of you” that usually means you’re about to get robbed blind for everything down to your socks n leave with nothing so I believe it.
