Sell 126610ln for 126711Chnr?

Hey TRF members. Need your help. Just got the phone call to pick up a 126711 CHNR Rootbeer. Am I crazy to get rid of my 126610ln to fund the root beer? Thanks for you kind opinions. Haha

That's a really tough call.

I picked up my 126711 CHNR about three weeks ago and it joins a SS Submariner Date and a Bluesy.

Maybe I would've gotten rid of one of the Submariners for the GMT (but only because I have to two).

I have and love both of them very much.

Both are great timepieces, TT Rootbeer is dressier but The Sub is more versatile.

There is no wrong choice, go for the one that sing to you the most.

What else is in your collection? If you only have the Sub, I don't know if I'd want the brown/TT to be my only.

Where do you wear your Rolex? Is it going to be a GADA? Is rose gold too flashy, is a Sub too boring? Do shiny PCL’s appeal to you? Will you be annoyed when they scratch? I’d lean toward keeping both, that would be a great two Rolex collection.

Nice problem to have.

Haha. Not much variety at the moment. Literally all GMT II. My current collection consists of the 126710BLRO Pepsi and 126710BLNR Batgirl and of course the 126610ln sub.

Thanks! Honestly I wear my Rolex anywhere and everywhere. The gold is definitely not too flashy to me. I agree with that being a great 2 watch collection though. Appreciate your opinion.

Yeah I thought about that too since there really won’t be variety in the collection at the moment. Will consider it. Only hesitation was how difficult it was to get the blnr rather than the sub

Hard decision I will try to keep both to be honest but ... from my experience is easy to live with what you have than with what you lost (I hope you understand me)

You will love the chnr but you will miss hard time the LV

Definitely a true statement. Correction though. Debating about letting the 126610LN not the 126610LV. Would definitely keep the Kermit/Starbucks/etc. Haha. Would heads down not let that go unless u were letting yours go for my sub. Lmao. Cheers brotha.

Sell the sub and buy the rootbeer, the Tt is not over the top flashy and the GMT gives you a 2nd time zone you will love it!!

Sorry no one here knows what a 126610ln is so you will have to only use the childish nickname and start a new poll

Just kidding, no I would not make that move.

I would not do that, but I love my sub and would not part with it. However, if I were you, I would move the BLNR, or just add the CHNR when possible if you really like it that much.

You have some great watches already and you seem to prefer the GMT line so I can see you going all in for the CHNR. It is dressier so I would say go for it. Subs will be around to add later. My favorite line are the Rolex divers and I had 8 at one time so go with what you most want.

Haha. Love it man. Sounds like we have the same love for different models. I was thinking about the same thing regarding availability. Maybe pull the trigger on a 124060 down the road since it’s a classic

Nice collection of very recent watches. If you acquired them all through your AD, you are well loved! :)

You have two GMTs already (BLRO and BLNR), and you are getting a third, and contemplating getting rid of your Sub?

If you like the two tone (I am a fan), then I suggest deciding between BLNR and BLRO as the one to get rid of, not the Sub.

A lot of love for the Sub here. I am like you and prefer GMTs over Sub any day.

The CHNR and 126610LN are not that difficult to acquire if you already have good relationship with you AD. I would not sell the BLNR as it will be harder/longer to get than the Sub.

I would do that trade in a heartbeat. If you miss the Sub, then get back on the “list” and you will have it in short order.

I posted this very same question back in 2017 when I bought my grail 116613LB. The piece I moved was my 116710LN. Needless to say, I regretted selling it. Especially since I realized that it was such a veritable watch a little too late. Settled for a 16610 to scratch the itch while I get the call for a batgirl.
Keep it if you are a watch nerd like the rest of us.

Appreciate the feedback. Yeah the blro is a definite keeper. It’s definitely a difficult decision but I’ve been blessed enough to obtain a lot of the recent references. All are from AD’s but different ones in my area.

This was my initial reaction too. My mind keeps telling me keep the sub for variety but when I put on the watches the BLNR just feels “special”.
