Not my personal preference, but RG references....different story. Those are growing on me and I could see my first two-tone being a RG reference. Have you considered those?

As for the pink dial, I'm afraid (regardless of my opinion) there would still be some of the public that would not see it as a watch for the rugged, manly man. If you're not concerned with what a few people think, rock it on and let it make YOU happy.

I’m not anti pink and like the color. However, it would look like you are borrowing your wife’s watch though. Pass

I would wear it. It's a beautiful watch Pictures don't do the dial justice.

Hooters girls love tips. They couldn't care less about ties.

Regarding the OP's questions, if you like it, I don't see any problem with it. However, unless you've got a broad collection, you might want to consider how often you'll feel like wearing it, and if the novelty is likely to wear off. If it's an accent piece for occasional variety, that might work better than if you intend to wear it as a daily.

A "man's man" is a little "you know what I mean."

Ok, back to the topic, yes, if you like it, wear it. A real man (or woman) doesn't care what others think about what he or she wears. Enjoy it if you like it.

That is actually very nice I do prefer that pink dial to other dials available on the DJ for example plain white.

Nothing wrong with wearing pink as long as it’s not a strong bright pink.

Shirt vs. Watch

It's one thing to wear a pink shirt. It's another thing to spend thousands on a pink watch. I have a pink shirt. But I think a pink Rolex would get old really fast.

Ha! Lots of sparkle in those days!

What would be most fun, is to get the 34mm pink dial DJ (although a Jubilee bracelet is not an option on the 34mm model), because a lot of guys feel that 34mm is a ladies' watch size.

Cheers,
Carl

That ain’t no salmon color, that’s Barbie color!

Joke aside, I actually like it though. Rolex never produces bad colors.

No way...pink shirts, ties, socks, even pants (on occasion), are okay...not a pink dial though

The pic of David's is the real color I want. Deep pink with the dial that really shines.

Ok, anyone else wear pink? Seriously. Show me the pics.

These pics lovingly borrowed.
Every time I see one in a store window, I want it. It’s very nice.

Some back ground info.

"In the early part of the 20th Century and the late part of the 19th Century, in particular, there were regular comments advising mothers that if you want your boy to grow up masculine, dress him in a masculine colour like pink and if you want your girl to grow up feminine dress her in a feminine colour like blue."

"This was advice that was very widely dispensed with and there were some reasons for this. Blue in parts of Europe, at least, had long been associated as a feminine colour because of the supposed colour of the Virgin Mary's outfit."

"Pink was seen as a kind of boyish version of the masculine colour red. So it gradually started to change however in the mid-20th Century and eventually by about 1950, there was a huge advertising campaign by several advertising agencies pushing pink as an exclusively feminine colour and the change came very quickly at that point."

I think it would be just fine if that is your taste.

To keep it 100 if that was a Patek or AP hodinkee would call it salmon and hypebeasts would pay 2x msrp lol

The pink dial is a very specific look. The DJ is a very versatile design, going from casual to formal/dressy in a heartbeat. But that pink dial limits the watch's versatility IMHO. It's not to my taste, but then who cares?

It looks very nice and actually quite neutral (not Pink Panther Pink, that is too much).

Edit: to answer your question: no, there is nothing wrong with you for liking a pink dial. But please explain “wrong”.

Looks nice! When I saw the thread I was hoping you were talking about the "pink Explorer" dial on the 116000:

I will reserve judgment on the watch until I see and handle one in person. I am not in a hurry though. In the meantime, I will continue to wear pink shirt, ties and socks.
