Talk me into or out of...

Moving the 14060M for a 214270 MKII.

I've got a lot of divers and find the matte dial / layout of the mk2 awesome.

Everyone also has a Sub - there are three in my office.

So, hit me with some motivation one way or the other.

Sounds to me like you've already motivated yourself on this...the 214270 is a great watch.

Is adding an option? The Sub is hard to bet against yet the new Exp is spot on.

What about selling one or more of the other divers? The Sub is the quintessential diver.
Try to keep it if you can. Co-workers come and go, good taste doesn't.

Yes, but would need to move other pieces which I enjoy.

These are my go to divers if you will and honestly the AR coating and matte dial cause me to lean towards the MKII more often than the Sub for daily wear.

I do enjoy the 14060M a lot and it narrowly beat out the Explorer when I jumped into the deep end of the money pit.

Pics always help:

with the latest addition

With the MKII LRRP

I'm thinking the variety might spice up the diver heavy collection.

Sweet Omega and I'm a big fan of MKII but the 14060 + Exp would set you straight.

Who cares that “everyone” has a sub? Buy what you like and will enjoy, not based on the opinion of others.

Completely understand - and agree.

I drive a F150 like 2/3 of this country cause I liked it over the competition.

You have strong logic!

I own both and love both. Would do what you need to to add the exp rather than trade

Coincidental you mention this -- not sure if you remember, but I messaged you a couple of times about straps for the 14060M (mine was a two liner). Well, I sold it recently and am getting a brand new 214270 from an AD next week.

The Sub is a beautiful watch in all references, but I'm really looking forward to the matte dial, simple layout, and case shape of the 214270.

Good luck with whatever you decide

Tough call as both are great models. If your 14060M were a 2 liner I'd go 214270 all day. Seeing how it's a 4 liner it's a coin flip.

Man, that is a difficult decision. I know I would be reluctant to sell the 14060. I have the Explorer 1 Mark II and am now waiting to receive my 114060 which is on order. I am wondering, when I get the 114060, if the Explorer will get wrist time? You might want to consider that. Once the 14060 is gone......

On the other hand, it is pretty difficult to talk anyone out of the Explorer!

Wish I could be more helpful with your decision.

Cheers,
Carl

The one major thing holding me back is that while the dial is matte - the bezel seems to be a light magnet.

My 14060M is well worn and the shine has been knocked down which I like.

You're not afraid to mod watches -- have someone brush the bezel. Or, just wear it for a bit, get some scratches, and problem solved

Both great watches. I'd personally go with the more modern Exp.

Hopefully one of the 3 is owned by the boss, otherwise I have a feeling raises may be lower next year

Tough one if you would buy without having either. Considering what else you have and mate dial preference the Explorer would be the one you would add in that case. However since you have the sub don't think it's worth swapping unless you get a very good deal.

If ready to spend more $, go for a SD4K 116600. Mate dial and date but no cyclops.

I prefer the Submariner. If you could get both into the collection at the same time you will know very quickly what you should do. If not, I would sit tight.

Subs rule, so for me I would move the others and keep the Sub and add the EXP

Not really a fan of either, but if you're determined to get the Explorer, I would flip the Omega for it before the sub.

My two cents.

Tough call. The LV hands mod makes your Sub quite unique even in a sea of other Subs. I'd keep that and add the Explorer, then dump the Omega and MKII.

Does everyone in your office have a 14060M or different models of Sub?

I prefer the Explorer personally. The 14060 is a great watch, but the dial and more modern bracelet win out for me.

Get rid of the MKII. Yao is a conman and that's just a Chinese homage with some BS marketing attached.
