Thank you! I do understand people being suspicious though, it was my first post but I was a little too excited not to share the pictures.

Amazing display..... I recently placed a post on here about the availability of some Tudor 58s locally and I was paranoid about the possible queries that may come my way because I didn't actuality go into the shop and get it confirmed that they were for sale..... strange times indeed. Cheers for letting people know, you not interested in one for yourself?

No prices on the display models?

That doesn't track.

Can you imagine how many wait listed customers there are for those models from that AD? Did they get 100 of each delivered?

I am very interested, but at the moment i'm having to be disciplined because my business is in a state of flux as so many are at the moment, it was very difficult to walk away though I will say that!

Probably for display only. I was all over Spain last summer and stopped at every Rolex AD I came across, to include Puerto Banu and when asked about SS sport watched they all laughed at me.

A friend in Germany informed me that his Rolex ADs have gotten the directive from HQ that they must maintain display models and not sell them. In the U.S., all displays have traditionally been for sale. So, it is conceivable that those are just not for sale. It would be interesting to know for certain.

Ah that could be it then, it struck me as strange because in previous months that particular dealer had only ever had the usual datejust’s and yachtmaster’s in the window.

That's it. AD on the German island of Sylt had the new Submariner family in its display window the day after it was introduced. Didn't even occur to me they might be for sale. And of course they weren't.

Cheers

That was last summer. A lot has changed.

Don’t understand why people are so skeptical.

This is one alleged imposition of a Rolex policy which not only sounds plausible but makes sense.

If I can't buy I still like to play. And it has a potential to eliminate watches I wait for but pass when I meet them, and maybe shows me how good looking some models I don't like actually are in person.

You will inevitably get moans and groans about display watches not being for sale, but I would welcome it. It ain't perfect but it beats empty displays.

But didn’t you say in a previous post the dealer said they were for sale?

People are skeptical because half the people on TRF would call and buy all of them if they actually believed they were for sale. Some probably called anyway on the .0001% chance they actually are available at MSRP with no strings attached.

Every paid picker in Spain would have snapped those up all at once if they were for sale.

There are a lot of wealthy spanish Rolex enthusiast in Barcelona, probably more than any other part of the country. I know times are tough but I find it extremely hard to believe that they’re so difficult that not a single catalonian is interested in a BLRO or 2LV, at least.

When I traveled Spain last year in Valencia and Madrid, they all but laughed at me for asking for any ss, they were a bit more friendly in Granada, Marbella/Malaga with one common theme they all seem to suggest, that they are mainly catering to their local customers before any travelers.

I sincerely suspect those are displays, or already sold.....or if it’s true, then by the time you finished posting those photos here they are now all sold.

There’s a movement inside them. Displays only show marketing time, these are varied, so real movements.

Spain has been severely impacted by the Virus, might have something to do with this. Thanks for posting OP...

That’s not actually an explanation for why people are skeptical, but okay.
