Thank you Stephen! I always wanted a Patek blue face watch. Finally got one. The open work is interesting to watch how it works while using the pushers.

I think it's a terrible watch...looks like a zenith...totally unbalanced with the "shark bite" on one side, an open work showing something that only is worthwhile staring at when you push some buttons ....and that's when you travel and ... Over $45000 for a watch on a rubber strap!!

Ok I tried but haven't convinced myself....a great watch and I had to make the same decision as Ken...but sometimes a bird in the hand....

Nice try Karl. Too late for me, lol.

My wife is starting to catch on that there will always be another "must have" watch. The problem is we can not have them all. So frustrating!

Thanks so much, SJ. It really is a special piece. The blue dial is so much fun to see as it changes color with different lighting.

The blue strap in your picture seems much more blue than the one on the 5650. Is that a real strap that is available?

The 5650 strap looks more black with a hint of blue.

[QUOTE=incontrol;I was surprised this watch was an application piece and even more shocked when it was approved.

The 5650 is a totally different animal from the 5164. It feels like three or four times the weight giving it a different vibe. It is a beautiful watch!

When my AD offered this to me I felt the same way: really? Ummm YEAH!!

The heft of the gold really does help this piece, I think it's is cool to watch the buttons in action in the open space.

Welcome to the Patek "terminator/crab claw club"!

Congratulations Kevin
I saw one of these last week and the dial is a stunning colour.
Is the lug gap the same as the 5167/64?

Thank you Tony!

The dial is really stunning in the sun. I know that the strap is the same size as the 5164. I do not know if it is the same as the 5167.
