I was in a local bar a few weeks ago and noticed that the manager was wearing a black Datejust41 , it looked real sharpe , crisp and understated.
I've got all the 'Hot models' and a few PM models too but I found myself jealous of this guys DJ41 |

I gave my Ingenieur 3227 to one of my best friends at my wedding. I never see it in person in the wild, but I do miss the watch if it shows up on a WatchBox show. It’s still the only nice watch he has and he wears it on special occasions and every time he comes into town to visit.

If it helps, Brian, the 126660 is a totally different watch. I think you’ll like the changes. :-)

I feel like the SD43 is more of an everyday piece, while the JC is a weekend one. Plenty of room for both. Plus, what’s good with Rolex these days is that you can take the JC for a “test ride” and not lose much (if anything) if it doesn’t stick (or if it ends up taking the spot of your SD). |

Interesting thread, which got me to thinking.
While I haven't had this specifically happen, I have often looked at others' watches and thought how good they looked on the wearer, only to have the exact same watch on my wrist, and be totally underwhelmed. Anybody else ever thought that way? |

Whenever I see someone wearing something cool on the subway, I must come across as a stalker with my unintentional staring.
Haven't seen too much, but I have seen a super minty vintage EXP 2 1655 from the 70s on some D*head who noticed I was having a peek and then began to obnoxiously laugh right in my face at me! I'll never forget, it was like a scene out of a movie! Having this middle-aged fat-cat WIS banker laughing in my face was just the weirdest experience. I've also managed to cop a peek at a Hulk and a FP Journe, both on young guys in their late 20s/early 30s, and they both looked great. |

<<< Seeing it on someone else >>>
Hi Brian
About 18 month ago sold my 116610LN to help part fund another project I was involved in at the time - big mistake- regretted it instantly! Replaced it late last year with an SD43 thinking it would be the perfect replacement. TBH I have really mixed feelings about the SD - it’s a watch I wanted for sooo long I really really wanna love it - the truth is, I like it, but I haven’t gelled with it like I thought I would. I guess I sucked in all the internet hype that it’s the latest & greatest Rolex dive watch to have. Don’t get me wrong it is a stunning piece, but like you said it doesn’t wear quite as comfortably as I remember my beloved Sub did. The worst thing is, my cousin has a 116610LN & wears it all the time....(crying) I also had a TT Sub LB that I let go at the same time as the LN. However I’ve since replaced that with a GMT CHNR which I am very very happy with & don’t regret letting the LB go at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Don’t miss it too much. You sold it for a reason. Sometimes it’s the nostalgia that kicks in. Look at your current collection—I’m sure it’ll make you smile. |

Your right, at the time I wanted my first PM piece and the smurf was the one, I felt it to redundant to have two blue watches so the YM2 left.

Brian, like others on this thread I know the feeling. To be honest, I prefer feeling a momentary pull toward a watch I once owned rather than complete indifference if I see it again in the wild . It just confirms that I bought it for good reason at the time. That being said, this hobby is a journey that can bring you back to the same piece again...sometimes many times over!

My boss today who’s also a watch guy had a solid gold AP on his wrist. I was wearing my daily GMT LN. He saw it and his eyes popped out of his head. He didn’t even say nice watch... hahaha
