Easylink on a 16710?

Hello everyone,

I am a happy owner of a Rolex 16710 from 2004.

My only problem with it is that the bracelet on the 6 o'clock side is too long compared to the 12 o'clock side. That means that the clasp won't sit in the middle of my arm wrist. I have small wrist size and so I had to remove all removable links on the 6 o'clock side.

In order to fix that I found out that the clasp of a submarine (clasp #93250) comes with a 1/2 link of the 6 o'clock side instead of the full length link that my 16710 clasp has. That means I can shorten the bracelet on the side that is too long and additional increase the length on the side that is too short.

How ever, I now read about the easylink mechanism and oh boy.. that would be awesome! I just wonder what the best way would be to get the easylink on my 16710 while also be able to position the clasp in the middle of the bracelet length.

Do I need a different clasp for the easylink or do I just need the easylink part?
If I need a different clasp, which clasps are compatible?
Would the easylink fit in a 93250 clasp?

Thanks in advance!

I tried my 78200 GMT II complete bracelet on a friends 16710 and it is a straight swap, I also removed the easylink clasp from the 78200 bracelet and fitted that to the 16710 bracelet and that was a straight swap too

So you have two options, buy a full 78200 bracelet or just buy the easylink clasp

The problem with the 78200 are the polished center links :P
Same goes for its clasp.

I would want one that isn't polished. And I would need it to have a 1/2 link on the clasp of the 6 o'clock side in order to get the right bracelet length for me (or better say: the right clasp position).

A kind of perfect thing for me would be the 93250 clasp with easylink.
How ever, I wouldn't mind one of the newer clasps if its not polished and has the right size + easylink.

The edges of the half link on the 93250 is also brushed, whereas the 16710 edges are polished. More surprising is that the seadweller edges are polished!

Just get it brushed

I wouldn't mind the brushed sides of that 1/2 link because no one would see it anyway.

Also I could simply get it polished :)

Nah.. I think there are better solutions out there :)

My biggest problem will be aquiring one of the clasps / easylink.
No Rolex AD is selling them here (except if I already had a Rolex with the same part).

If one side is too long, take a link off the other side and move it over.

The EZ link is part of the clasp; you can't stuff an EZ link combination inside a 93250 clasp with the diver extension.

If you have a brushed link and you want it polished, polish it, or vice-versa.

I cannot remove another link because I already removed all temporary links from that side. That one side is still too long. the overall bracelett length is fine though. But if one side is longer than the other one, then the clasp wont be in the middle.

What other brushed clasps with easylink and 1/2 link on the safety-bar site are available?

Maybe the clasp from a 42mm explorer II?

. . .
You cannot add anything to the bracelet anywhere that will shorten the length of the 6 oclock side of your bracelet.

The time-honored fix for small wrists is to remove one of the permanent links on the 6 oclock side. This fix is so common that all the bracelets made in the past few years come with fewer permanent links and an additional removable link on each side.

Alright I will try to explain this a bit better:

The 6 o'clock side has 4 full links that cannot be removed.
Then there is a 5th full link which is part of the clasp.

The 93250 has this 5th link as well but instead of a full link it is only a 1/2 link.
That means the bracelet on the 6 o'clock side will be shorter.
This means that also the overall bracelet length will be shorter as well.
This lets me increase the length of the bracelet on the 12 o'clock side which will again move the bracelet more to the middle of the overall bracelet.

So I need a clasp with 1/2 link (or even shorter) on the clasp side where the security bar is (6 o'clock side) and additionally allows me to use the easylink.

Try reversing the orientation of the bracelet in relation to the watch. This may center the clasp on your wrist but you have to get used to a new way of opening and closing it.

Rather have a new matte clasp with easylink and 1/2 link :D

Here is a 93150 clasp with the easylink extension 32-23043:

Should work with a 93250 too then?

Not with the diver extension.

Ah ye that is true. I would also not need the divers extension.

So 93250 without divers extensiom but with easylink will work?
What other clasps would fit?

And also:
How to obtain it? No Rolex AD (here in Austria+Germany) will sell it to me seperately -.-

Honestly your best bet OP is to remove a permanent link from the 6 o'clock side so you have 4 perm sitting. Your RSC will do it for you - the St James One did it for free on my Explorer II 16750.

Nope, none of the RSC here in my country do it.
And I would also prefer a different clasp with easylink + 1/2 link anyway.

OP, I have a redundant easy link clasp from the Explorer 11 if this is of interest. I intend to put it up on the classifieds when I get round to it. I’m based in the UK.

PM me if of interest.

Thanks
