I believe Omega makes better watches than rolex

So from many years of watch collecting. I believe Omega makes higher quality watches than Rolex.

Out of all the watches I have ever owned, only a Rolex and a Tudor watch I had actually broke on me and had to be shipped back to Rolex to be repaired.

Omega is master Chronometer and the feel, material and time tracking is far superior to Rolex.

But of course, Rolex you have that brand recognition.

OK. If you say so, it must be true.

Is this why you joined the Rolex forum today?

I personally think Omega gives a better bang for buck than Rolex, but like Rolex design elements better than Omega.

Next he's on his way to the Mercedes forum to tell them that BMW is superior.

this is clearly a troll post.

but I will play. I love omega. and I often prefer omega as it does not carry what I feel is a negative stigma of Rolex. I realize a lot of people think the Rolex branding is amazing. and it is. but I hate being a part of the crowd, so to me, it is a bit of a turn off.

but it is hard to beat Rolex watches. they are truly top quality from the aesthetics to the build.

I will always love my omega watches, and I look forward to getting my next. but they are not better watches.

the troll has an anecdotal story and comes onto a board such as this only looking to rufflee feathers.

needless to say, that will likely not happen in the open forum. he should have put this in Rolex forum. they would try to tar and feather him over there.

Personally, I have had to send my Omega in for service three times for the same issue (Aqua Terra 8500 hour hand not jumping when setting the time). The third time they pushed me into a full service at a VERY slight discount.

My Rolex has been flawless for the last nine years..

Being this obvious of a troll is just plain lazy. At least try something a little more imaginative.

Agreed. Their brand is so strong they decided make a plastic version of their premier watch line for $200. Move over Rolex.

Your one experience with Rolex is what would be referred to as statistically insignificant.

Your decision to join a Rolex forum to tell us about your conclusions has a name as well.

Don't sink to his level. Rolex doesn't need us to defend them against Omega.

Omega is nowhere near the same league as Rolex, the market knows. Trying selling a Seamaster 300 at premium and let us know how it goes.

i don't think resale value is a valid argument about quality

Even though this is a troll thread, I do think Omega is more fun. The difficulty of buying a Rolex, and the way guys connect Rolex ownership to their ego and sense of success in life… is far too serious for me.

For example, my seamaster 300 I grabbed the other week is just fun. It has red text to troll the vintage Rolex crowd. The transparent case back is totally unnecessary but cool. The helium escape is a fine bit of over engineering that hardly anyone will ever use. And then, in case you didn’t yet realize it’s a PROFESSIONAL DIVE WATCH, the dial has literal waves laser engraved on it.

What’s the resale value? Probably not much, but it’s a very nice watch for the $5000 sticker price in the rubber

I agree my 321 is better than the half dozen Daytonas I’ve owned. But across the board…no.

Rolex makes great watches. It unfortunate social media has made them into a target on your wrist and that takes some joy out even for people like me who don’t live in a major metro.

When you hit it big in crypto you buy even more Omega watches. Maybe even a few PM versions
