Thanks, I just got PP 5712G at a reasonable price (but still higher than msrp). I will wait for awhile for VC OS.

That being said - the proportions of the 15450 are nice / good fit for my wrists. 39mm would work well too tho. But don't think it's worth putting out extra cash for the marginal increase in size.
yeah i don't think the premiums on the jumbos are at all worth it. i'm happy with what i have although i think the end game is an openworked in 37 or 39. maybe in another lifetime lol

There's been quite a few pretty cheap deals on (non-blue) Sky-Dwellers lately I've noticed.

I think I saw the white sky - if it's the same one looks like it sold.

Yes, looks like it sold shortly thereafter. Not much of a markup over retail with consideration to tax and likely a bit of a discount behind the scenes.

It’s funny seeing so many JM Daytonas popping out on top of the already many of them for sale after being discontinued. Gonna be another season of inter-dealers trades to pump and dump

Agreed -- discontinuation of a piece that was mass produced for years doesn't mean much.

don't really think it classifies as mass produced. can't imagine most ADs getting more than 1 or 2 a year

So 1-2 a year per AD for 7 years which makes 10000-20000 total. Not mass produced?

AP makes ~40k watches a year (so 280k in that same period), by that logic they're mass produced too but they aren't. yes rolexes are mass produced by definition but that doesn't mean some of them aren't made in very small quantities. the argument here is that mass produced = commonly available, and therefore shouldn't be worth a lot, instead of the literal definition of the term. it's a fact that these are not common at all

dealers were hoarding them every year in anticipation of it being discontinued and to be able to cash out. i don't really think there will be a lot of them around once the dust settles

Most Royal oaks arenít rare despite APs ďlimitedĒ production numbers. It is not hard to source one and there are thousands available online. What is rare is getting one at retail.

Look at the hulk ó discontinued for how long now and there is no shortage of them avail (some brand new).

Looks like moda just limited those allowed to post them for sale to rwb and moda dealer alliance members.

hulks were made in much bigger quantities than a green daytona and much more easily attainable, even at crazy grey premiums they were still relatively affordable. the limited run of the green daytona doesn't have as much to do with it as the difficulty in getting one, people here have said even spending 100k at an AD didn't get you anywhere close to one. probably easier to compare it to a 15202, but anyway i wasn't trying to argue that. my point was that he implied according to his math of 10-20k of them being made in 7 years that they're mass produced, while AP made 280k watches in that time frame and are literally not mass produced. rarity is a different discussion, and i know ROs aren't rare besides the openworked/tourbillon/etc models

i just wanted to say that mass produced by definition means it's not hand made, and yes rolexes aren't hand made, but when most people say it i feel like they don't mean literally but rather imply that mass produced means it's made in huge quantities and commonly found/obtained

to add to the above - there are 64 results on chrono for the green daytona and 14 or 15 of those are stock photos which probably means those dealers don't actually have them. so 50 available on a global marketplace. for reference there are 51 15407s, 450 15500s, 221 15202s and 534 hulks. i would say the green daytona is kinda rare despite it being "mass produced"

This statistics is what ADs say. Do you really believe it? I donít because there were some ADs telling me they didnít see a single 116508(any dial) in the past 2 years coming into their shop. If most ADs are getting less than 2 pieces a year, maybe Rolex should put this dial in their off-catalog range. Itís all smoke bombs in the past 3 years or so. Nothing the AD says can be believed. Truth only told to sharks and these sharks wonít tell you the truth

My country that is considered a very small nation has 26 on sale on a single local selling platform.

Edit : Few months down the road, people who invested in JM at the current pricing will get their fingers burnt for a 2nd time

Donít get the sneakiness here about moda.

I have saved a TON in fees over chrono24 and found some watches in there I would never have found otherwise.

Itís the only place you can really find independentsÖ

I like TRF but TRF is literally just dealers spamming mediocre prices in the classifieds.

you've been saying that for a year now ... if you keep repeating yourself you'll eventually be right when the market settles but aren't you a little embarrassed to have been wrong for so long?
