A ceramic beast. Incoming.
I’ve always wanted a ceramic AP. I tinkered with the possibility of finding the skeleton or the PC, but for some reason, I got lucky and acquired those references in RG and ST. So when the Beast, the watch that kickstarted the ROO craze, was announced in carbon for its 30th anniversary, I knew it was the missing piece of my collection.
Interestingly, some people find it an overpriced reference, and even the black looks may drive customers or purists away. Still, when you’ve been granted the opportunity to have been invited to La Brauss and see how difficult it is to work with ceramic and produce the level of finish this reference has going for it, you’d think twice about dismissing it so quickly. But to each their own. I’m blessed to have gotten one, and it’s fantastic. It is a big boy with characters, but its feather-like weight makes it extremely comfortable. Here are some pics. Great piece to add to the collection !
Tried it on earlier, love the look and feel, but as the OP has said still felt a bit overprice.... not sure if it was the black or ceramic that bring out something that neither ST nor Ti could show about this beast. |
