BTW as for other application pieces I have two. I just asked my SA. Since I had been to Patek that probably helped a bunch. If I had the funds I might have even been able to get a rare handcraft from NYC.

JLC offer a 3 hour a morning enameling class as part of the Master Class program (along with watchmaking and engraving) available to the public with reservations and a fee and a factory tour after lunch. Next time it Switzerland I plan on going.

I like that race car #2 has auto-pilot since the driver’s hands are nowhere to be seen.
The cost seems high since it’s a regular Calatrava under the hood. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

The JleC enamels are beautiful but, if I was a potential buyer, I would prefer portrait rather than a landscape design on the wrist.

Well it’s a caliber 240 with an officer case. Have you seen how long and how much effort it takes the artist to create these rare handcrafts ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes and when the AD gets allocated the piece that's when the AD submits application on behalf of the client which patek then has to approve so in a round about way patek still picks who they go to.

They really are amazing. I've been also wondering if I should go for a 5131R or 5231G from grey... Though I love chronographs and QPs, I must say that those enamel WT are something to think about. Seeing it regularly on your wrist must be something. |

I'll be honest I never really understood the whole enamel and world time love but I'm starting to come around. I'll never be able to qualify for or afford one but it's just comforting to know that there are still people hand crafting things like this. |

I remember I saw in the early 2010 also a Vacheron that I believe was unique and on which the Chagall ceiling of the Paris Opera was reproduced. That was something, even for someone not familiar with this kind of work in the first place. What changed was also the fact that I could imagine wearing in as an everyday wear (that's how I enjoy my watches): it must be very "entertaining". The grey prices stand around 100/110 K€ from what I saw in the past years, not moving that much. I still prefer a chronograph (that I yet don't own) but I'm tempted ^^ ("New" indeed is something else...) |

Just learnt something new today. The dials made by Anita Porchet herself are signed "A Porchet". The dials made by her team (supervised by her) are signed simply as "AP". The rest of the enameling are done by Patek in-house enamellers. Some do sign their names on the dials.

Yup watchprosite taught me that. There is lots of info about rare handcrafts on there if you haven’t already done so you should check it out. https://www.watchprosite.com/patek-p...76/1500048409/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
