Money not being an issue...BUT....
You could NOT sell it. What Rolex or watch would you buy. Forget the money and availability, if you could have any ONE which one do you choose?
Ill go first, it would be a toss up between the Plat Daytona with diamonds or AP RO Chrono in Platinum. |

Daytona Rainbow. I have seen it so many times on camera and it “explodes” on the wrist. Mark Wahlberg especially wears it well with anything from jeans to a tux.

if money were no object I'd have this one, or the 1/1 platinum model that was custom made for some rich collector and auctioned off a few years back. (No clue if $816k is reflective of market or not, first time I've seen this one, usually partial to the YG, but this seems more under the radar)
Never seen one in person, but Patek Cloisonne dials are probably my favorite pieces of art currently produced. KhalidSS used to get a bunch of the Cloisonne Calatravas and would post them but you really don't see/hear about them too much. Would be really tough choosing a Rolex. Probably would end up rocking a Mil Sub or an original comex diver. The Teflon coated South African Submariner would be a close third though |

36mm Explorer. It’s the only model in the current range that I like.

Probably the Submariner I’ll always have one in the collection whatever the iteration.
The others always seem to come and go. |

PP 5316P. All you would want or need in a dress watch. Platinum, perpetual calendar, moon phase, minute repeater, tourbillon on a classy black alligator strap.

For me it would be a PP 5712. Eventually I’ll buy one - probably end up having to go gray as I have zero PP spend.
Just so perfect to me in so many ways - I don’t use the term lightly but this would be my grail. I’d love some updates to the bracelet but other than that it’s just so well done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Never really thought about where the first submariner was.
Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay had the first explorers i believe. Or atleast the first explorer went to the top of Everest with their group. I do remember some speculation about who was wearing what. And while not a submariner, this 1920s Oyster Submarine seems worthy of mention. I've always found them fascinating, they used to be attainable when they popped up. not sure about these days. https://www.rolexmagazine.com/2013/1...-1922.html?m=1 Quote:
Corum makes some neat stuff, not really my style anymore but I considered a few of their more eccentric dials when I was younger. |
