New Releases & Incoming

Bit of a misleading heading i.e. two topics, not one.

Unlike many I quite like a fair bit of what's landed this year. In particular the orange dial DD and the titanium YM, albeit at 42mm a bit big for my 6.75" wrist. Love the Daytona's. I had hoped the 1908 was going to be more complicated i.e. moonphase etc.

Pleasingly nothing new has made me second guess my new incomer, landed yesterday, the "Bluesy". Out of my 4 I still think the "Rootbeer" is my favourite. The SS Sub needs to go at some stage, doesn't float my boat anymore. Bad camera phone pix, the watch actually doesn't look this large on my wrist.

My AD's been great, in 3 years I've had the GMT, YM and TT Sub plus a DJ and 37mm YM for my partner - so I'm really grateful - I was also offered a mint motif DJ41 which I regret turning down and have subsequently been waitlisted for.

My question, have the new releases made anyone second guess their most recent addition.

Not really for me, I always go for what exactly I want at a given time and if I get tired I can easily resell to buy another. Works for me.

I am always looking at new releases and models. I evaluate my collection and move watches around according to what I wear and what I want. Part of the fun for me.

Kicking myself for buying the Milgauss. (J/K)

No doubts on any of my recent purchases.

Congratulations OP.

To answer your question, no I’m quite content with all my purchases. When I look to add, I try to find a reference that I believe will stand the test of time, not necessarily the latest/greatest

Nice collection. A mint DJ would be an excellent addition and add additional layers of variety.

Like you, I love my Rootbeer. While I also love my classic Sub (no date).

2023 newly announced Rolex watches did not sway my interest. Still after a SkyD Blue.

No. I only buy what I love and want to own. My last Rolex came around 10 months ago and I'm content with my collection. I've been more focused on other brands since then. A 42mm Daytona with a date complication would be of interest. Also, there isn't a DD at the moment that is of a configuration that would make me reach for my wallet, so new models are potentially of interest but none of the 2023 DD releases.

My most recent addition is the WG Sub which hasn't changed so nothing to cheer or lament there.
I'm waiting for a YG Daytona on oysterflex. I'm glad it hasn't shown up. I really like the new one with the reshaped case, bezel ring and glidelock clasp

Congrats! I don't think you'll ever need to second-guess that one, it's beautiful.

I agree, I'm a YM convert now. Love it way more than the submariner. Despite owning the rootbeer id love a TT brown dialed YM.

I really love the new Bluesy but would still choose the rootbeer over it.

I think Ive up a mate to take my sub.

What configuration DD would you like if it was viable?
