My heart goes out to the families in Nashville

I can't imagine what those parents are going through right now.

I hate to say it but things like this cloud my thoughts when we send our two little guys to school each day.

This is so terrible and must stop. This location is barely a mile from the Nashville Rolex AD I've been to many times.

We had to run nuclear drills when I was in school. I think the biggest difference is that no nuclear bomb attack ever occurred. My grandkids are getting to the age where they will be going to school. I can’t even put into words how much this stuff sucks.

This thread won’t last long.

I can't imagine sending a child into school these days.

The evil that lurks among us is truely mind blowing.

Praying for everyone involved.

Such a senseless tragedy.

I know it won't and I will probably get points docked, but I had to express my thoughts on this senseless tragedy. Sorry mods.

I got emotional reading the news.

I used to play outside and run the neighborhood when we were kids. Don’t see that much anymore, like when I was a kid. I pity the generations that grow up now.

I think some of that more evil is just due to more people.

Mental health is a huge issue, and when accepted in society rather than dealing with it appropriately, it just creates more problems down the road. Clearly the shooter had mental problems. It's a shame.

So sad for those families. Maybe more schools will learn from these events and secure all doors.

Interesting how initial articles said it was a female...

Now its a "transgender man"

Amazing how labels change when it suits media interests.

Just gets more disgusting as I learn more.

Hard to believe this wasn't a reaction to the belief systems instilled by the religious school and the identity crisis that ensued.

It's a woman. A person can't choose their sex.

These senseless acts need to stop. Plain and simple. Innocent people didn’t sign up to die for anyones cause.

Because it needs to be said, I stand for the constitution of our great nation. I believe that every single person nationalized under this flag deserves the same rights.

That being said, I cannot fathom a single reason why anyone beyond a terrorist would purposely murder innocent children. IMO each of these hideous acts is simply an overtly zealous “activist” attempting to martyr themselves to push an agenda through with terrorism.

The way we combat this is stop being so divided as a people, instill more education, understand diversity but above all, realize the world is a lot bigger than ourselves or the issues that trigger us.

Let’s start respecting others and respecting ourselves. Rallying behind each other as Americans and citizens of the world instead of consistently trying to destroy those and their agendas that don’t align fully with ours.

I agree that mental health is a major issue in our country and the world. However, I don’t believe those that do these heinous acts suffer from mental illness. I feel that helps perpetuate the stigma against those struggling with mental illness. Thus keeping them from prospering.

I take no issue with standing up for one’s self and protecting ourselves, our families and our country. However, Before you can protect the country you should fully understand what this country stands for and the rights guaranteed to us through the constitution.

We must learn more, be accountable for our actions from childhood and become less divided for our country to have any chance at combating this and coming back together, stronger.

My heart aches for those innocent children and their families.

Authorities have identified the victims as 9-year-olds Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, 61-year-old Cynthia Peak, 60-year-old Katherine Koonce, and 61-year-old Mike Hill.

RIP

This really bothered me. I have kids around that age and this happened pretty close to me and my kids schools. I drive past there all the time. I can’t believe it’s happened again and so close to home.

All of my condolences and best wishes to the families truly awful stuff. I can’t begin to understand or imagine.

Unfortunately I think it’s only going to get worse before it gets better.

Makes me sick to my stomach, I feel terrible for the kids that will grow up through these times.

My local state rep sent out a survey yesterday.

It was essentially, do you think kids are better off or worse off than we were?

The overwhelming majority, 80+% when I answered pointed to “worse off”.

Screenshot of the survey.

Sorry to read about it. Incredibly sad. Like everyone, I hope this endemic issue somehow stops.

My friends kid is 3, my sisters due in 2 days, and my nephew is 8.

I worry about them all the time.

Michigan had the Oxford shooting and the courts found that the school couldn't be held liable despite ignoring a multitude of warning signs which were beyond criminally negligent in the context of what happened.

Absolutely terrified that they're in the hands of these people or going to be.

Yeah, their gender is the important thing here, not the fact that it's easier to buy a murder stick in American than it is to get a driver's license.

Repeal the 2nd Amendment and replace it with something that better reflects the technology and the culture of our times.
