Tokyo 2020 speedmaster red bezel

Anyone seen this one in person? I have a friend in japan who can get me one on his way back.
I’ve been trying to get a speedmaster and keep going back and forth between different versions!
For the Tokyo versions,
I like the blue one but it’s similar to the Gemini and not that special
Like the panda but I have a white daytona
I was drawn to the red bezel because I didn’t find another ss speedmaster with red bezel

Thoughts and pictures appreciated!

That watch is amazing. I've never owned an Omega, but wow! I'm blown away. I gotta have one of those - red bezel and silver dial is unbelievable.

Are the Tokyo Olympics Speedmasters readily available in Japan or hard to get?

All models or certain ones?

Great question! I was in Japan in November 2017 and some were offered for discount at the omega ADs. At the time I wasn’t interested and came back empty handed

I heard they’re now sold out, especially the panda. I’m not sure about the rating of “popularity” though!

I was in Japan 3 weeks ago and a few locations had the red one available (Osaka Omega Boutique, Daimaru Kyoto department store). Almost all the Omega boutiques had the blue, black/gold, green/gold available, and nowhere in the country had the panda one.

Were these released in November 2017?

Congrats. Having seen a few pics I’m definitely coming to the conclusion that I like the red best. Has the japan look.

This is the one that flew under the radar a little as everyone was obsessed with the white dial (as they always have).

Readily available in Japan, this and the Blue. The others not so easily found.

Are you sure? I heard the red bezel was also hard to find.

I saw several in cases a little over a month ago. Both red and blue.

It’s a beautiful watch, the red, the grainy dial and the overall colour combination makes it one of the best Speedys in my opinion.

Whether it’s easy or hard to get doesn’t factor into it being a good looking watch.

As above it’s quite popular but fairly easy to find one. This is also known to some as the “Rising Sun”.

The ones you see at AD are not for sale. They are for display purposes. I saw one of each colour when I went and I couldn’t purchase any. You need to place your name on the waiting list.

I was called a few months ago I could pick up the green Speedmaster after waiting about 9 months. I declined in the end.

Fantastic looking piece, I would happily add it to my collection if I could find one.
