Vintage Tiffany DJ - Best way to get papework

Guys,

Won an auction this morning for my first vintage Rolex, a '77 Datejust I plan to give to my wife for her birthday next month (she was born in '77)

The auction included the box but not the paperwork, I don't know what a Tiffany Rolex included but I'd like to collect all of that documentation to have to present to her. Afterward I can send it in and get new paperwork and have a service done on the watch.

Being that it's from Tiffany's does the paperwork vary at all? What all should I be trying to gather, and beyond ebay what are some good sources for hunting this stuff down?

Here's a pic from the auction, will post my own once it arrives.

Thanks,

Dean

Almost impossible

Get it serviced at RSC, they'll provide you with a 1 year guarantee and the invoice with "Tiffany" dial
Original is what came with the watch and it disappeared

Agree. If the original paperwork was not with the watch then you are not getting it.

I'm not worried about the warranty paper as much as I'd just like the have the manuals and the other items you get one purchasing a new watch. Was the Tiffany stuff any different?

I would agree to get it serviced, it is the only way that you will get something that authenicates it.

Will do (after her birthday) what about the other books, how should I go about getting them and are the Tiffany books any different than the standard?

The post from the guy in the Netherlands almost reads as if they kept his Tiffany face and replaced it with a non-Tiffany?!

Can someone educate me the Tiffany status? I didn't think there'd be any validation issue, the seller is a member of the NAWCC and guarantees the watch is 100% authentic, so I'm not doubting the validity of that, but it seems to be what people are commenting on the most? Maybe I didn't type clearly what I'd really like to purchase is the manuals, etc that would have came with the watch when it sold new. The primary box as well as the outer box were included in the auction.

If there's a good thread or article I should read on Tiffany branded Rolex's please pass it on so I can get educated.

Thanks a lot,

Dean

No they're not any different as they were all Rolex issued manuals and papers.

The only thing different is that Tiffany added their name to the dial.....and no, Rolex won't swap it.

Thanks, will keep hunting eBay for them.

Did Tiffany add their name to the dial or did Rolex do it for them? Does anyone have the history on this?

Did't mean that

When your service receipt comes back it will state something like :

Rolex 1601 Datejust
Serial number
Bracelet number
Dial , Silver double signed Tiffany

And then the rest of service receipt.

Follow up;
Wife's birthday arrived last week, she was super excited about the gift, far more excited than I anticipated.

Obligatory birthday shot:

Duly note: in my family if you bust out a camera (even a phone camera) these two kids come running to make sure they're in every picture, so yeah there's my kids too.
