Here's mine, Pat. A 1983 with a Luminova service dial and hands and a 1979, all original.

Some terrific pics here folks. Here's my L series again, this time on a NATO. Nothing wears a NATO quite like a four-number Sub, IMO.

My personal protest at the outrageous cost of (often questionable) vintage Rolex pearls
Ingenious!!

I have a customer who is an ex-Comex diver. He lost the pearl from the bezel of his Rolex-Comex 5514 and replaced it with a small diamond in a gold collet... now probably cheaper than a tritium pearl..!!

Nice 5513s on this thread. My 5513 is a bit more recent vintage but I love it.

Happy friday everyone.

Love the 5513's.
Here is my 1968 meters first. For the first 2 years this watch was worn and used at the South pole.
By the mid-70s it had been to the summit of numerous mountains in North and South America.
In the 80s/90s it could be found in Tibet on the top of several mountains over 26,000 ft.
At the start of this century it went on its last big climb, Mt.Everest (via the North side).
Nowadays its taking life easy, the only excitement it now sees is at Christmas fighting for a
checkout at the local supermarket.

One of the very first 5513's from the initial batch made.

I've only ever seen 3 or 4 of these show up.

They are all the same too:-

765,XXX serial number with 1.62 and 5512 stamped casebacks and PCGs.

All have a very rare dial:-

- Gold print for Rolex Oyster Perpetual at the top, silver print for 200m=660ft Submariner at the bottom.

- Closed gilt minute track dial

- Exclamation point dial

This one is unpolished but the dial has certainly seen better days(!!!). Still it's an amazing colour on the wrist!! Changes in every light from dark brown to light caramel....not for perfectionists though

Thank You Jason. And plan to keep it until my last day ( snif !! ). I tend to keep what I like, still have the same mother, wife, children, cars, etc.

This specific one, has very little wrist time, less than 10 % of its actual age, so its almost new. It had spend most time in the safe than on my wrist, due to lack of date.
