Agree with this too. Seeing as they won't discontinue the original sized Daytona... "Daytona II" perhaps?

Daytona is 38 mm

I saved this pic from this forum a few years back. I can't thank this member enough for taking the time to confirm what we've always known. And I hope it's ok to repost his pic. I know Rolex states 40mm on their site, but it's inaccurate and deceiving. It's only 38. And understandably more popular than ever with the ladies because of this size. I know 2mm sounds petty, but on a sports watch that already on the smaller side 2 mm is huge, especially for 7+ inch wrists. My beef is if they state 39 for Explorer I, 40 for Sub/GMT, 42 for SkyDwller, 44 YMII/DSSD. So just state 38 for Daytona. As a customer and a fan it's insulting.

Yes, Rolex's stanard measurement is the bezel diameter.

Rolex is a stubborn company. They give us dress watches like 41mm DateJust and 42mm SkyDweller, but their most "Professional" tool watches like Daytonas/Subs/GMTs are smaller. I don't mean from a trend perspective, just saying we don't all wear the same size clothes, and watches are no different.

That being said, I'd love a 41 or 42mm Daytona with the exact same design. But I'd settle for a real 40 mm Daytona--not a supposed one. The most beautiful and iconic sports chrono in history and it's fans deserves better.

I am thinking that this post is almost spot on, size increase, but, instead of launching in SS, like the BLRO and Paul Newman Daytona, the new model will launch in PM, but this time in white gold.

A White gold Daytona at 41mm with a black ceramic bezel and possible panda dials will check almost everyone's box, and not disrupt the Paul Newman or ever-rose Daytona owner's mojo.
I doubt you will see a new size for the Daytona. The ceramic models are just a few years old, so I would say you will see other PM Daytonas with Ceramic bezels, and maybe a couple of new dials.

SS to follow suit of course in 2 years, after the TTs are introduced next year (IMHO).

We could all be wrong though, you never know with Rolex. Who the hell saw a RG YM w/ceramic bezel coming???

Thanks, that's helpful and really interesting, probably the reason why it always fell flat in person while I love it in pictures...

1. Blueberry gmt

2. True to original steel Pepsi gmt (yea, won't happen)

3. True to original steel coke gmt

4. Ceramic Daytona

Id love to see Rolex make the sport model lineup more robust.

I think that a Datejust would be so underwhelming.

Just my humble opinion.

Yes Daytona is dazzling in person, but not on all size wrists. Fingers crossed for slightly larger 41 or 42mm Daytona. It's been 16 years since the 116520. It's time...

Which new release did this teaser reference?

* If answered already, apologies for the duplicate question.
