16710 replacement crown question?

Hi guys,

I unfortunately bumped the crown on my GMT, so went to a local Watchmaker for the first time so see if he could fix it, as the crown was not screwing down. He luckily had a crown in stock, but on picking the watch up it is a little different to the original.

He said that it was an authentic rolex part, and I just wanted to check with some more knowledgeable folk. The size difference doesn't worry me too much, as I prefer a waterproof frequent wear, and the total cost was quite low + I retained the original. The watch also passed a pressure test.

The new crown measures at 5.9mm (~6mm) in diameter and 3mm thick. Do you know what this might normally be on (if authentic?)

Also would the correct crown for a 16710 be a 603-0?

Thanks for the replies guys.

It's definitely bigger, so will probably contact the watchmaker after the weekend and see if he's happy to change it to one I can source. It functions fine, but just looks out of place!
