Datejust 16234 36mm vs Royal Oak 14790st 36mm

I have a Datejust 16234 of 36m and I use it day by day, but I like the Royal Oak 14790st 36mm. Which one do you prefer for day to day? I would also use it for the beach, pool, mountain...
I keep the Datejust or buy the 14790 ???

Both are classic designs... I’d have a hard time choosing, but I think the AP might just edge it

I like the Royal Oak in that size.
I would choose the AP.
If you have been wearing your DJ for all these years, maybe it is time to change.

Why? What problems could I have with the Royal Oak 14790?

I am a giant Datejust fan, and I like the look of the Royal Oak in 36mm, but I would still go Datejust 36mm.

However you said "I have a Datejust 16234 of 36m and I use it day by day, but I like the Royal Oak 14790st 36mm." So seems like you maybe like the Royal Oak better, maybe it is time for a change?

I'm only familiar with the 41 mm AP 15400, but the finish and detail on those watches are exceptional. I just can't help but think that the 36 mm Royal Oak is going to wear smaller than the Datejust. I also tend to avoid wearing the AP when I'm out doing things like tennis or in the gym. I wouldn't hesitate to do those things wearing a Datejust.

I'd stick with your 16234.

Has the 2225 caliber caused problems? The 3135 of me Datejust 16234 is more reliable?

If possible keep the DJ and find a way to add a RO. Maybe consider the 15450 in 37mm. Solid movement and upgraded deployant.

I love Datejust, I think I'm going to keep it, although the Royal Oak also loves it

I am a huge DJ fan but the AP is so unique that I would go there. Even with the service costs and any other issues. You just don't see them everywhere.

Keep the datejust. Tougher and MUCH less expensive to service.
