Review of Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600

Thanks JP for a great article! I to like to read articles on watches I own too, mine is a Y serial with lug holes.
It has a different wrist presence than the Sub, it kind of pops on the wrist. The combination of the steeper lug, smaller dial, proud crystal and raised case back give it a unique appearance, which in my opinion makes it perfect. To me it seems to have a tactile technical feel to it.
Thanks for sharing, enjoy your watch.

Thanks, all.

While the 16610 Sub is the most popular the Sea-Dweller has always been the hardcore fan favorite.

Great review ... to the point that it put the brakes solidly on for me briefly concidering selling my 666 for an early Exp II. Boredom and internet are a dangerous combination and the review just re-ignited why I've held on to the SD. Thanks.

Don't sell it. It's absolutely certain that the prices will increase. Dweller is not a "rare" watch and Rolex doesn't give production numbers. But I suspect there are ten times more 16610's out there than 16600's.

16600 SD is truly a great watch. I have bought and sold a few myself through the years but am still holding onto my P serial from 2007 - definitely a keeper!

Check this out. I'm not saying this price is nowhere near realistic but on the other hand you rarely see these unused ones anymore.

COMEX 16600, asking price 90.000 Euros.

Sounds crazy.

What do you think?

Yes those COMEX asking prices are crazy. Have you seen this?

https://www.watchfinder.co.uk/Rolex/...85/item/121766

I can (barely) understand something like the Double Red as it was original Rolex but never understood this COMEX-thing.

But the wealthy collectors decide the market prices I guess.
