Saw it at my dealer a few weeks ago in White Gold and thought that it was beautiful, but I already have a couple of white gold watches so decided to wait and see what the pink gold one looks like in person. The last few days I've been perusing the forums admiring the pictures of the RG ones, wondering when my dealer will get his first RG one in-stock. Today I wandered into my AD to wish them a Merry Xmas and was greeted by a RG SkyDweller (I probably should have returned his call earlier in the week). Needless to say it was spectacular and I put my deposit on the watch. Now I'm annoyed since I didn't expect the watch to be in so quickly so I didn't bring my Amex with me. Need to wait till next week to pick it up.

I must say that I'm so excited!!!
Congrats!! That's what this thread is all about!

It was your pink gold one that did me in!

I love the white gold one but just don't need another WG for my collection.

Is the chocolate sunburst dial on the Sky Dweller exactly the same as on the Daytona RG ceramic?

I am also certain in a few more months on the secondary market prices will soften strongly... Just look at the YM2 on the secondary market!

Be sure to post some pics on this thread when you pick her up next week!

Not at all! The Chocolate Sunburst dial is much more striking than the dial on the RG ceramic Daytona ;-)

Never thought I would say this Sam, but I think at 50k for an annual calendar that is built like a tank and you could go swimming with is actually "good value for money" IMO considering the alternatives...

Huge congrats...

Sam don't hate me but I honestly like the YG version the best, I know you only ended up keeping the RG and WG, but the YG is the one that speaks to me, then again who cares since I'm not the one who wrote the check

Good sir Alex, I will be the first to say that $50k for the Sky-Dweller is just insane! Secondary market next year will dictate what the true price should be. I agree with you, for my lifestyle and at the moment in an annual calendar the Sky-D fits me well, however, the below was also a contender...

Brother Ronnie, whenever you touchdown in NY just let me know and you can wear it wherever you want!

Hey Marc, why would I hate you? The YG is a striking piece, however, would not have made much sense since I own the black dial 116718. For the record, I only kept the RG version and moved the WG version to a fellow collector ;-)

Just saw a Skydweller in person for the first time today. Was down the Borgata in AC and passed by Borgata Jewels, they had the yellow gold in the window. My girl laughed at me said I looked like a little kid looking at it, very very nice piece. I wonder how many people know what it is as they pass by it...

Thanks Fremstar.

Out of curiosity, are you keeping your SkyDweller on a winder?

I'm thinking about getting a winder just for the SD.

Anytime, no winder for me with any of my timepieces. I think it will be time for a watch winder when I venture into a Patek Perpetual Calendar timepiece, not for a few years though

I know noone asked me lol but I don't keep mine in a wonder either. Rolex designed this to be fairly easy to set as annual calendars go

Besides mine is my daily wearer!

I alternate mine with my DD, so no need for a winder. Plus I kinda look for an excuse to use the bezel, so a few days off are not so bad.

The YG version is striking in person, I think you will love it! Good luck!

Congrats Sam. RG was definitely the way to go. It's gorgeous with that chocolate sunburst dial and the brown croc strap. You're definitely pimpin'. Good choice my friend!

not that many around

Congradulations -
Finding a shop that has them in stock is not easy - I'm from an area where the bonavide Rolex AD's don't have them yet - finally saw one in person while on my last business trip to Hong Kong a couple of weeks ago - went over to Kowloon and all the Rolex AD's had thme over there - tried on - its a big heavy, thick watch - even bigger than my GMT II - liek the dealler said there is a lot of mechanical stuff going on in the case and they need room - have fun with it - how complicated is the quikset in the SkyDweller - never found that out - how many stops on the winder ?

Glad you had the chance to check it out! Totally agree, I had a 18946, which i thought was the heaviest timepiece I have ever owned and own a 116718, however, my 326935 makes my 116718 feel like a SS timepiece!

To be perfectly honest, I have set my Sky-D once and haven't played with the functions much! It is super simple to set and highly intuitive! Check out the video below!

that was very informative on the quiksets from the video you provided - does appear to be easy and combining the crown release with they bezel positions really appears to make it easy - enjoy it - many thanks
