Just texted my AD to be put #1 on their list. He said won't know MSRP for a while and he does not expect to get one until October?

They even put the PM bezel numbers on the SS. Almost feels like pandering, sort of disappointed really, thought Rolex were tougher.

The black bezel against an SS or RG case will define it more than against SS and will/does make it wear slightly bigger, white dial even more so... maybe up to a 39mm feel.

Stainless Steel Ceramic Daytona
Quote:
Exactly! Nothing terribly revolutionary here. Rolex already released ceramic bezels on gold / Strapped Daytonas. The only difference is they skipped the usual updates to all PM models one year...the two-toned (thank god!)! and finally steel. That's all. But, to be fair...this is a larger than normal step / departure from Rolex predictable process...so whoop whoop! 😆 |

I might be searching for a black bezel to go with my black face. It's about time they went ceramic on the Daytona.

It kind of looks like the case follows the shape of the PM models, i.e. evenly sized lugs on both right and left side of the case.
Does it look like that to you guys too? |

I love it. I'm a huge fan of Ceramic.
Is there any concern of durability around the edges of the bezel since the whole piece is ceramic? Thinking specifically how it will hold up without having a metal ring to protect it. I know that it exists in PM, but there are going to be a TON of SS out there banging into all kinds of things. I'd like to think it was tested rigorously but still... |

Just a massive improvement over the previous one on dials alone. Finally non-shiny, legible sub-dials. Beauty. Looks like a sport watch again.

Wow! They fixed what I didn't like about the 116520, namely the bezel and subdials. I can live without a date, this watch is the business!
Just sent an email to my AD to put me on the list for a white dial. |

Not everybody needs the latest and greatest, and the 116520 is not THAT different. At the end of the day I feel like a classy watch went a bit sportier, which is why I can imagine they did not add ceramic to the WG or YG models. |

You must not really be the authority on the topic of price -- why don't we just compare the 16610 to the 116610? People scramble over the aluminum-bezeled models still. The new Daytona is a stunner, for sure, but that doesn't mean the older models are going to tank in price. There will always be a preference for the classic models, and the 116520 is the last in a long line of steel-bezeled Daytonas.
