Both nice references - do you have a budget in mind?

This is a 118239 with Rhodium Roman dial. The major differences between the 18239 and the 6-digit references are solid middle links on the bracelet, a heavier clasp and (from about 2006 on) rehaut. You should be able to find a nice 118239 for your budget.

Happy hunting!

Do you know if only the middle links are solid on the 118239? Or is it the whole bracelet? I’m looking at a 18239 for 12.5k silver dial or a black dial 118239 rehaut..... Thoughts????

After having a white sticks dial DJ for the first 19 years of my Rolex life, I went black sticks. Way easier to see in all light levels.

that said - that DD is stunning.

The DD is a great choice. I would go with the solid links if possible and I really like the black dial.

Dd 18239 vs 118239

Another 2 differences between the 18239 and the 118239 are:

1- 5 series has brushed lugs while the 6 series has brushed lugs

2- Fit of the bracelet against the case is more refined on the 6 series

Either model is a great, so pickup the one you liked more. My 18239 says hi

I'd go for a 118239 if possible. A good condition 18239 is not that far from a 118239 price wise. The lower end 18239s on the market have stretched bracelets and often over polished. And the solid bracelet on the 118239 gives it a much better feel overall.

Just out of curiosity , what size wrist do you gave. It looks large for a 36mm, I was alstroemerias surprised that you can pick up a DD, for $15k, and you can

I've never measured my wrist, Had to cut sides of photo to be able to upload it here, so it certainly looks bigger. That said, my wrist is not too big, the 36mm fits well and classy. I do enjoy other 41mm and 44mm but the purpose of this piece was to wear with my suits.... I Don't like wearing a big watch when I dress in suits lol..... Picked it up for 13k

Good choice. I had the chance to see in person a 5 digit DD bare case and a 6 digit case. Comparing the two the 5 digit has less gold milled out of the case. Now a 18038 has a largest case and the lest amount of gold milled out of the case of all the DD. The watchmaker said the differences were do the technology rolex had through the years to remove the insides.

Hi. That is a beautiful pickup. I am caught between a 118238 vs 118239. I feel that the white gold version has more variability than the yellow gold version.

The DD is a great choice to go by, considering the fact its silver makes it more unique, cause most people would go with the black dial. congrats and wear in good health.
