Yes I wear my Rolex while swimming and working out ( not high impact like boxing so no worries.)

I worked out (lifting) AND showered with my DD today..because of this thread.
As long as you are aware of the watch while you're working out its safer than being in a locker for sure. Especially at gyms with built in combination locks that the staff has access to. I go everyday, and then straight to work..so if I dont wear it at the gym, its not getting worn out of the house..and thats a waste!!

Never a mechanical watch.

I’m currently trying to find a nice (interesting) watch for my wife. She needs a watch to keep track of time, in a dark environment. She teaches yoga and wears a djii daily, as well as a Pepsi and Tudor. None are suitable. I bought her an Apple Watch and it’s bloody useless. It stopped charging (red/green snake of death). I’m trying to figure out what to get as a replacement. I suspect something digital.

Just been trawling watchfinder to see if there is anything more interesting that is suitable that we can put on a fabric band

I keep my Panerai 112 Luminor for gym/kite boarding/beach. Panerai watches just look like you should beat them up. They almost look better that way.

No way. I coach/compete in Olympic style weightlifting and can’t imagine trying to complete a snatch or clean/jerk with any watch on. Maybe for squats or something it would be fine though.

Totally agree. I leave mine in my office, locked in my desk. The gym is not a safe place for a watch.

Never. I need to wrap hands and wrists and wear gloves for muay thai, wearing any watch prevents that.

Just curious about about your process for changing watches. I’ve found ways to quickly remove and replace but I may be taking some shortcuts that put my watches in danger.

Me too - never take it off my wrist. Mostly do running, cycling, weights, core stuff - no boxing or other "contact" activity.

I gym everyday and I wear my watch everyday — actually, I never take my watch off. 30+ years of lifting, and I’ve never damaged a watch. I think my rule on watch buying is that it needs to be tough enough to keep up with my life — else why do I own it!?

G-Shock if I am going to the gym from home but if I have my Sub on and I go directly to the gym then it stays on.

Trust me, it can handle some weights.

Do you wear your watch while working out

Not when I go to the gym but I do take it with me when I go hiking.

It truly depends on how you workout and what you do. I do cross fit and that involves lots of cleans, snatches, thrusters, front squats, kettle bells etc. I have never seen anyone wear a watch doing cross fit and they did they would have to be a fool.
