So glad I stopped myself...

I want a Batman but the lists are 2-3 years at ADs in the UK.

So, I started searching the grey market and finally found one which was fully stickered, with warranty card, box etc.

However, it was priced at GBP£9,550.

3 weeks ago I paid GBP£9,900 from an AD for a new TT Sub and considered part exchanging it for the Batman.

When I got to the shop they offered me GBP£8,000 for my 3 week old sub and wanted an additional GBP£1,550 for the Batman.

This would have meant I'd have spent GBP£11,450 on a Batman which is ridiculous.

The feel and the look of the watch is uncomparable imho to a sub and does not warrant a price of GBP£9,550.

The whole experience of buying from a non AD wasn't pleasant either.

I had a lucky escape and am going to sit and wait for however long it takes to get one at RRP

I love my BLNR but GBP11,450 is insane, with conversion thats pretty much double the RRP here. You will enjoy it that much more when you get one at RRP

Love my BLNR it’s such a brilliant watch. I could never fathom spending that much on it! Well done you stopped yourself! TT Sub will do well to tide you over till you get the BLNR!

Trading a watch you bought 3 weeks ago would be a terrible move indeed.

Why did you buy the first watch if you weren’t happy with it. 3 weeks is a quick I’m over it timeframe

Thing I hate about bubbles is you never know when they’ll burst. Is it like investing in BitCoin when you’d be better off sit it out, or is it like the London housing market where if you don’t invest (no matter how crazy it seems right now), you’ll be kicking yourself for life.

I’d only ever buy a watch that I wouldn’t be happy to keep, but at the back of your mind could you get it 30% cheaper in a year or will it cost you 3 times as much in three years??

I got my BLNR from the AD in Chester.....not too far from you.
A few years ago granted......but they were very good then.

I recently went to another (local AD) ......proved I am a genuine buyer and got my name down for a black Skydweller.
I was told it will be less than a 12 month wait.

I love my BLNR, but wouod not pay over retail.

Just sit it out...

Wow..you lost $1900 in depreciation on a TT Sub in only 3 weeks? That’s brutal.

Mistakes on your part, sorry and all. Here's let's analyze this...

Ok, since you're in the UK that is normal and am sure you knew of the long wait times for some pieces.

Quote:

Ok, probably market value as things are what they are.

Quote:

Well, unless you got a good discount then obviously you're going to lose money the moment you got the TT Sub and tried flipping to a dealer. Am sure you knew this.

Your mistake per se now that you changed your mind.... but that's ok. Not a life or death thing. A few GDP here or there is what it is.

OK, they're a dealer so they need to make profit. See, that's your mistake, as you should sell your TT Sub direct to someone to not lose too much $$$ on it. Why not just return the Sub TT to the AD you bought it from? Do they offer a return policy?

You made some mistakes, now you of course know it'll cost you in the wallet. Not a life or death thing, yet good lesson learned.

Ok. Avoid ADs and go gray from now on or private sellers. Lesson learned on your part and that's a wonderful thing.

Excellent! It is a wonderful watch.

i made mistakes early on too, yet now after over 20 years have (hopefully) learned a thing or two. Enjoy the TT Sub, or sell is ASAP before any more scratches happen. You have the warranty card, box, papers etc so you should get a decent price for it.

Or keep it and wait for...

Wait it out man. Someday things will return to a more normal market and watches will be available again.

The problem with your TT sub is that even it is only 3 weeks old, it is still an used. Being a two tone watch doesn't help either.

Good idea to wait on the BLNR.

Not always in the UK, especially in the last few months.

In many parts lists are extensive, many people on lists won’t ever get the watch as VIPs skip lines etc.
