Lucky you........and good for you for not giving in and telling anyone (PM me later : )

Kidding aside, I was told by my boutique guy that "people won't be ready" when he was referring to what AP is coming out with in january, whatever that means.

I pressed him for details, but he wouldn't budge.

15400 will be discontinued in 2019, the new reference will be 15500. Also the tone of the blue dial will change...

Hopefully a slightly lighter hue of blue. As of I now I feel like it's too close to black.

Are you sure? I was at AP Beverly Hills yesterday and they told me that they are not discontinuing the 15400, they are going to further limit production though.

That will bump resale value if true. Guess it depends on the success levels of their new ‘code 11.59’ launch.

FHB has previously confirmed they will expand production in 2019 though so let’s see.

I dont see 15400 being discontinued anytime soon. The 15300 was identified as cannibalising the 15202 a few years back which was the reason for it's short lifespan. Market was different back then, pretty much no AP model flew of the shelves...
Perfect agree with this!!
Only we need to think if AP launch a new collection then supply of AP RO, ROC maybe will be less then now and in this case I’m sure price will rise and we will see more Boutique list of waiting for AP RO.

Companies make money by releasing new stuff LOL

My question is not if, but WHEN they will AP cut the 15400?

If they didn’t, we would all say AP RO line is stale and needs a refresh
The 15400 already has a display case back. No need for a smaller case as the 15202 takes this spot at 39 mm. Clasp was already updated after its release several years ago. Not happening.

IMO, a 39mm RO w Quickset date and seconds hand would do really well.. a lot of us can’t pull off the large 41mm and are turned off by the absence of the above features in the 15202 (not to mention its relative inaccessibility).

Feels like quite a sudden move if it’s at all imminent without filling the void of what is probably their best selling watch model.

Did they say if it will be stopped or upgraded / relaunched as the 15500 ?

Hmm, if they are really discontinuing the 15400 then I am really curious what the replacement is. Certainly it can't be that new 11.59 release, which looks to be a dress watch

Forget about the number.. are you serious it’s going to be discontinued??
What does this mean in terms of value of existing 15400?? Good/bad?

Historically, if a popular model is discontinued the values rise. Lack of ability to obtain, creates more desirability.

Glad Ive got mine. It’s a super watch.

I know next to nothing about AP. But it would appear an odd move to actually do this. From what I understand, this is potentially one of their best selling pieces. Makes little logical sense to me.

My guess is they will make subtle changes (such as with the Diver or 42 ROO) and will call it 15401 or 15500. I seriously doubt they will discontinue a defining piece such as this one. Perhaps a bigger change as in 15300 to 15400 but basically continuing the line.

We’ll see. What we know for sure is that any new model will be more expensive :) Glad I have mine.

I could only see them reducing the size a little, but as the 450 is there I don't see it happening. Possibly an appealingly designed GMT would be a good idea, one area where other brands are way ahead.

A 15400 as a GMT? I just can´t imagine how it could look like.
