FP Journe announces hideous monstrosity

I dont care if I get flamed over this. These are awful no matter the horological significance of the movements.

They fit with the company’s design language, but modified for a line of "sports" watches. They are appropriately styled IMHO.

Ooh, these are hot.

If the pt version has a royal purple dial, then forgetaboutit.

While these probably will do nothing for current FPJ admirers (myself included), the larger and sportier versions may draw in new customers . Maybe.

(Deep sigh... groan)

Even the movement... needs more detail and bridges.

I don't care who you are, that is a hideous and cheap-looking watch.

It's taken me years to come around to the original Centigraphe Sport, but I do like it now. The original Octa Sport I've never liked and still don't.

These are natural evolutions of the originals, not surprisingly with a larger case as FP has said himself that people didn't buy his smaller watches (the entire line has been upsized over the years).

I actually think the yellow dials are fun, and look good against the case/bracelet. The Octa S is far better than the old version.

That said, both are too much for me.

Interesting move on their part. Certainly a deviation from previous models. Curious where this goes, is there a market that will pay for a FPJ sports line?

It’s a square peg in FPJ’s round hole.

Quite sad if the smaller ones didn‘t sell well. I found the previous Octa Sport quite appealing though it could‘ve been 1-2 mm smaller for my taste.

I actually think the centigraphe would look great in person and on the wrist. Quite unique and perfect for more casual wear.

There’s definitely a market for this.

Despite my love to the brand and their chronometre line, I never liked their sports models. It looks like trying very hard to be sporty.

Can rolls Royce produce a car that directly competes with Ferrari, design wise?

Yikes!

I love FPJ for some of his amazing dress watches but everything FPJ that´s supposed to look sporty is just not for me.

I agree, I can see the design architecture, but not to my taste, way too much going on and colour clashing too. This brand is really a dress one for me, with some nice quirks. I think Moser and Breguet struggle too to crossover, maybe Lange shouldn't even attempt it.
