Can You Ski With Rolex

I searched for threads on this and was surprised that nothing came back. So I'll start a new thread. Is it alright to ski with a Rolex sports watch? Can the movement handle temperatures down to -20C or OF?

I don't fall that often but I do fall occassionally. I am a little worried about popping the bracelet in a fall. Is that a valid concern?

You realize Sir Edmund Hillary climbed Everest wearing a Rolex in 1953...

You can ski. It's safe

If you're worried about the bracelet, you can always double check and make sure the screws are tight. I think it should be non-issue though. I've skied with a Rolex sub on my wrist for years and never had an issue. Post pics from the mountain

Not as well as I used to, but I guess that's just part of getting old.

Go for it!

Are you sure it wouldn’t be too cold for your Rolex?

Your watch doesn't know what the temperature is outside.

Been skiing for decades with a Rolex without issue. Can't even think of what the issue would be.

Can You Ski With Rolex

Recreational skiing would be fine. But if you’re running the gates in GS then not so safe. Or if you like to run the trees or any extreme stuff, I’d wear it reversed.

Has nothing to do with temperature - it’s about rapping the head against wood, fiberglass, steel or rock.

When I raced i took it off but regular skiing I kept it on just fine.

As long as it's not a platinum model you're good...otherwise you just tend to turn in circles toward the heavier wrist.

I skied with mine and it's okay. But do be careful that you might scratch or dent it in a fall.

I would be worried for your wrist exposed to -20C

you don't have to worry about your Rolex. In this pic it's way below -20C

This Rolex lived through 100 degrees below zero on the surface of the moon, so, yeah, a little bunny hill isn't going to phase yours.

I crashed a motorcycle wearing mine and slid 500 ft on concrete... with the watch bezel being shaved down on asphalt... bracelet didn't budge. Ski your heart out.

Strap still uses springbars which are typically the weak link not the bracelet...

OP --> If I can wear it while on duty, I'm sure a little skiing will be fine.

I do; with a PM or SS Rolex. No worries.

This should be included on the “can you” thread!
