Another AD / Boutique datapoint

Ben Bridges - San Diego
- 2018 received only 6 Daytona's, 3 white 3 black all pre-spoken for before arriving.

- Buy a precious metal watch and get "bumped" on the list otherwise it's a 5 year waiting list at that rate.

Take all of this with a "grain of salt" though he seemed to be genuine about it. He noted my own Daytona on my wrist and seemed to be pretty upfront.

Second verse...same as the first —-

Makes me wonder...how much revenue ADs have lost overall - with these shenanigans — on top of just not having the inventory to sell...

I chat with my AD every cpl of weeks — and it’s tough (with Rolex and Patek) right now for SURE.

For what its worth the new Rolex Boutique in Fashion Valley says no need to buy precious metal watch to get on the list for a Daytona though who knows what the wait is still.

Seems that a legit 2-5 year wait wherever you go unless you've spent 30k+ in precious metal watches already. Anyone else is essentially out of luck except fore gray market.

Gray market premium = the cover charge for skipping the line. it's like putting a $50 in the hand of the bouncer at a nice club.

The AD I purchased my Daytona from also stated they only received 6 this year - 4 black dial and 2 white dial (and three of the black dials were received in the last three months of the year).

To Rolex that equates to one every two months; no matter when they are received (all within Q1 and 2 or spread out etc).
