I have been dreaming of a Vintage Rolex Daytona 6263 6262 6264 6241 for sometime. They are scarcely available and come at a price but that won't stop me from the Hunt! $40k - $60k price range...

You see mint ones at sheartime.com but they are astronomically priced or already sold / on hold. HQ Milton has them often, but usually pretty beat up.

Not a hard watch to source at all and plenty of them out there. Now if you want a 6263 black RCO or white exotic different story.

* My first vintage Daytona was a black 6263 followed by tropical 6262, white exotic dial (PN) 6263, black exotic dial (PN) 6241 and black exotic (PN) 6239.

That one is an RCO dial so I think it would go for more. Most dials are ROC which means the example in the picture is an early model where they used a surplus dial and stamped "oyster" on it. Overall, they are available.Several are coming up for auction in Geneva and there were a few here recently in the 35-55k range depending on shape, completeness etc. I am in the hunt for one or a Porcelain 16520 but looking to trade a PP for it. They are great watches...super cool.

Yes look at mine above. Less than 200 were ever made according to vintage experts so quite rare. The one I had was worn a few times and brand new.

Had? Sold/traded it? Thats one of of my grails right now...that and a great condition 6263. Even been thinking of trading a 5970 for an exotic 6263/6262 but feel thats prob a dumb trade..

Well a mint 6263 like mine above now sells for $350K if you could even find mint and 6241 in $150K range. So a 5970 won't get you a 6263 but will get you a 6241. As for the RCO black dial you need a cool million to get but even that won't cut it as there are only a few around and all in private collections. I have seen only 4 or 5 ever and those are so far out of reach! Happy hunting though and the porcelain a fine watch if you can ever find one.

Very rare and very expensive. There are some brokers which deal with vintage Rolex that you would need to call about these types of watches.

Porcelain or a regular Big Red are prob the most realistic right now. Although I have seen some CRAZY numbers for a Porcelain lately...like $74K. I saw a great 6263 Panda and it was 360k ask and there are several coming up in Geneva. A realistic PN option for me is a 6239, 6262 or 6241 PN. I just feel that trading a 5970 towards that may be a bad trade. The PN is def more wearable in my opinion but the 5970 may be the perfect watch and from an investment perspective...maybe more upside. I have a J and there are only around 100 of those so....have to wait for a while. In the meantime i can pine over your collection which is just SICK. ;-)

Its quite funny some of today's most collectible Rolex watches dont have a Rolex made movement inside the the case.Myself have a 6263 it was my Fathers watch and while I am still alive would not sell it at any price.
